I guess this subject will generate many views and emotions. Having looked deeply into this topic I like to think I'm reasonably knowledgeable on the subject.
I would like to hear what anyone else thinks, what your views are and if you are taking it seriously....what do you intend to do? Depressing subject I know, however as one osterich said to another when facing a stampede of wilderbeast, "instead of sticking our heads in the sand, shall we get the f@*K out of here"?

I'm a realist, I only believe in things I can see so I will gladly carry on with life as normal!
Anyway, if something was to happen, what would be the point of spending the bit of time you have left before hand worrying!

I did not say I'm an expert, just that I have looked into the many possible and plausible scenarios anticipated and events that have occured, are occuring and have been predicted to occur. To my mind it is all too much of a coincidence to be ignored or not taken onboard with at least some degree of consideration. Also we are not talking about the end of the world, just the end of civilisation as we know it today along with global devastation and the near extinction of the human race. Whats that song....? Oh yes, " Always look on the bright side of life da,da da,da,da,da,da,da"! LOL |

When I was at school we were told that North Sea Oil would be gone in 15 years and that we'd have extremely hot summers and perishingly cold winters.
No second prizes for guessing what I'm gonna say next.....

...It was a load of bollocks.
And now we have alarmists trying to say that the world is going to end in 2 years time. Now let's just assume that's real and that the Mayans got it right.
You would have thought there would have been a bit of a broo-haha a bit bloody sooner about it wouldn't you?
Can I sue my insurance company for flogging me a policy that they bloody knew those I leave behind would never be around to collect on?
Or shall we just take it for what it is.... another Hollywood hype to promote a film.
Some clever little exec up there in make believe land has got hold of a story that a little bit of history associated with it, put it forward as a great film to make and when asked what makes it different from any other mega disaster film he replies, "Ah, we can sell this one coz the ancient Mayans predicted it!".... "...and chuck in a bit of Nostradamus with it, everyone thinks he's genuine enough, so they'll buy this crap too!"

2012?
I'll be watching England in the European Championships in the summer, then I'll go on holiday with the wife and kids, Peru I think, just in case like. Then we'll be back for bonfire night, after which we'll get stuck in to the run up to Christmas and a nice traditional Christmas eve (which on the 24th by the way) and then Christmas Day surrounded by those nearest and dearest where we'll celebrate a lucky escape that the asteroid that was supposed to be here on the 21st missed us by about 50,000 zillion miles!
(which is about the same amount as there are grains of sand on the Earth) |

Well, as I thought and mentioned initially, I knew this would create a range of views...surprisingly none so far that takes it seriously. I hope the sceptics are right..I really do, as for no smart arse remarks...well I suppose it was all too much to expect. No matter...at least it generated some feedback. As for the film...I've not seen it yet, no do I intend to rush out and view it because it is for entertainment purposes and will be exaggerated and glossed up. I have seen the tailer though and one point is significant in the add... if the powers that be did know of an impending global disaster and when it was going to occur, what would they tell the billions of people?......nothing!, their goal would be to maintain the status quo for as long as possible..until leading up to the events (which would take place over three weeks) from Dec 21st 2012 whereby by that time we all will know that things are not right. The evidence will be undeniable, if there is anything in it of course! |

Well having seen the film (OK, great special effects, too gooey and American storyline).
We think those that believe in the 2012 prophecies, and if you look on Google you'll see that many people do, should start taking steps to prepare for the hereafter !!!
First thing is dispose of your Earthly possessions. Mainly money, but luxury consumer goods and top end cars are also included. Do it now, don't wait till the last minute ! Maybe take out some long term morgage agreements so you can give even more away to feel even better !

I used to read alot of nostradamus (if thats what we are on about) the world was supposed to end in 1999. Im afraid ive got better things to worry about than whats going to happen or not happen in the future. |

Are we talking about Newtonian gravity which as with many things can be demonstrated( proven ) using the standard "proof" techniques, or were you refering to "Hawking" gravity, which in conjunction with Hawking radiation can be used as a theoretical explanation for the "inflation" which occured in the milliseconds immediately following the big bang ?

petrol is cheap until the government tax it and thats what makes it so dear.i think the tax is something like 72% at the mo

Here are some factoids. Geological and ice core analysis indicate both major changes in the Earths magnetic field (pole shifts) and significant changes in the planets atmosphere that occur together in cycles (roughly every 3500 yrs). Durring pole shift events the earth experiences major earth quakes, tsunamis and severe volcanic activity. It is due to come around again. 2012 a Prophecy?...If this is related to 2012 then it is no more a prophecy than the sun rising tomorrow morning, it is a cyclic event. NASA have stated that in 2012 there are going to be solar storms/flares the severity of which will have the capability to knock out power stations, communication satellites (all satellites) and render useless anything containing micro electronics. That means pretty much all modern means. The Earth has never hosted such a massive human population as it does at the present, so the impact of such events on humanity is not so difficult to imagine. Anyway, google the following related subject areas...2 suns, Planet X, Niribo, Nephilem (not too sure of the spelling on that), Mayan Calender and of course 2012 prophecies. In amongst all the info there is crap from bible bashers, sceptics to those making light of it, however there is a great deal of good information also...you will have to decide for yourselves what is what. |

How about a wager?
I bet £1,000,000 to anyone that the world won't end in 2012. Each of you who says it will must pay me £1000 on 1st Jan 2013 if it doesn't. 1000 to 1 odds, can't say fairer than that eg?

Well, I'm not a gambling man. All I will say to that is between now and then you will either be rubbing your hands sure of your expected windfall or slowly realising your not going to get a penny after all, as for the £1,000,000 I would invest that in a property that is inland (and at least 300' + above sealevel), away from people and stocked up to the gunnels with long life food and bottled water along with anything else you can think of that you would need in the event of the total collapse of our society and the worst environmental conditions that you will ever experience in all your born days. |
