London.
I just didn’t feel safe there and it was so busy. Had no reason not to feel safe either, it was just a bad feeling I got.
Went to New York which is just as busy and felt at home there. Loved it. |

Bradford thanks to satnav on a motorbike trip.Ended up going through the city centre on a Saturday afternoon and there were 100s of our bearded friends wearing purple t shirts with a slogan carrying collection buckets literally every few yards. One of them realised under my helmet was a white face and put his bucket down and ran screaming at me across four lanes of traffic.Naturally me and my mate got out of there fast.I did wonder what would have happened if it had been heavy traffic and he had caught me. |

I worked at one of London's oldest department stores for years, there is a storeroom in the basement where no-one and I mean absolutely no-one felt easy.
I've never believed in hauntings but I can't explain some of the strange things that I've witnessed during my time with the company. |

"Wolverhampton my god never again. Lol "
I opened this thread expecting to see quite a few people saying Wolverhampton so I’m pleasantly surprised that it’s only appeared once….I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your time here though, there are good and bad parts just like everywhere else but our bad parts are worse than most haha |

I wasn’t offended, i didn’t take it personally at all and I’m sorry if it came across like I did, I wasn’t being defensive about it. I love Wolverhampton because it’s my home town but I know it’s a dump and bad experiences are easily found here…I’ve had many myself haha |

"Chatham"
Agree 100%
Visited a site there and stayed in local hotel.
Walked into town at 5pm for food.
Dear God! People lying in benches pissed. Staggering around the streets d*unk. Arguments in the streets.
Scurried back to hotel with a sandwich from the Esso garage and left as quickly as possible in the morning!! |

We were once doing building work on a Tesco in Rutherglen, Glasgow, and witnessed (at a range of about 10 yards) somebody walk up to a customer, stab them twice, and walk off with their shopping trolley. That was pretty eye opening |

Certain parts of Bradford and West Yorkshire. Lived in a rough part of Birmingham growing up and got a job in a supermarket with a knife/ weapons bin outside. Regular fights inside between shoplifters and staff. Actually been to a few and worked in a lot of dodgy places over the years. |

In the wardrobe when the husband got home early!!!! Hahah
But seriously the oddest/scary place was the Isle of Sheepy when they used to do there zulu day, all the dock workers would black up and put on tribal necklaces and stuff and go around the town collecting for charity, and usually a parade with floats and costumes. Was a fun day over all but the first time you see it. It was like what the fuck is happening. When 30 guys waving spears and skulls desend on your shopping spree lol |

I took a wrong turn and got lost in the suburbs of Milton Keynes last year. It was grim! I pulled over to reset my sat nav and it was like every local chav was walking towards me. The estate was like some scene from a 70’s apocalypse film, all that was missing was tumble blowing down those glass strewn streets. Never again! |

"Elland Road
If you mean inside the football ground, I totally agree it can be a really nasty, spiteful place! "
Inside wasn't great, but it was outside after the match that was the scary bit. I had to put my son on my shoulders and run. He would have been about 5 or 6 maybe? I was able bodied back in those days. Dad and I legged it |

Not in The UK but the Amazon in Brazil stayed up there for a month. Spiders, snakes, piranha fish the lot. Even walked into a local village everyone just stopped and starred at me like I was an Ailen very scary. However Brazil is a fantastic country as I done the tour of Rio De Janeiro etc and if you get the chance go and visit it. |

ZZ top concert??

Were you really the only white people in the city centre of Bradford? I guess you’re implying they chased you because you’re white?
It’s a tough tale to swallow.

I was rather unfortunately abandoned on the street in a council estate somewhere outside Newcastle on New year's Eve at 1 am. That was not a comfortable experience and I've been to Kabul and Al Amarah in wartime and they weren't anywhere nearly as uncomfortable. |

quite close to you |
A random pub in Mansfield in the 90s;, that me and a friend just popped into to have a piss; when we came out it was filled with NF, BNP and Skinheads.
We froze
They turned to look at us.
It fell very fucking quiet.
We exited quickly.
Oddly they didn’t do anything more than give us ugly looks. |

Belfast, going back a few years when the IRA we're still very active. Certain areas were not a good place for a few young english lads to be and we happened to wander into a bar in just such an area. Got kindly warned by a middle aged woman to clear off before we were spotted by some of the regulars.

Very sensible.
I think it belongs in the stories forum....on a UKIP website. |

Only been to Wolverhampton once, for a karate tournament back in the 90's. It was a good day for me, so no complaints about the place. |

Newry Down |
The scariest place I have ever been, by a long chalk and contemporaneously the most dangerous individual I have ever met, was when I voluntarily subjected myself to an experimental scenario whereby I was licked in a facility for five days; I could have left if I had chosen to do so, but the experience gained from remaining did outweigh the discomfort and concomitant fear of remaining.
My companion did behave as I suspected he would, in the fulness of time, and a life was needlessly but predictably extinguished, very very violently.
That small room was the scariest place in the UK that I have ever been to! |
