There are many threads and comments about how a vagina looks from both men and women.
There seems to be fads over the years on what is considered to be an attractive vagina.
These days a hairless, small labia majora and tucked away perfectly symmetrical labia minora seems to be the 'in' thing. Whereas in the 70s most women had pubic hair so the labia wasn't as visible.
Do crude descriptions of vaginas, ie, beef curtains, kebabs etc lead to women feeling more self conscious and negative about their body image.
All of us realise that vaginas come in all shapes and sizes, vaginal lips can be small, large, one side smaller than the other, inner labia visible and hang over the outer labia etc as well as change over time as we age.
Do we feel that men are to blame for the crude descriptions and negative critique in relation to vaginas or are women equally to blame for the way vaginas are described.
Do we feel that the vaginas displayed by porn actresses are what we secretly feel is the perfect looking vagina or do we accept our own irregularities as being perfectly natural and normal.

I didn't ever think about my vagina in terms of beauty and acceptability until I joined this site. I'd never think of displaying it except in play.
I have had moments of wondering how mine compares but it's mine and can give me pleasure so I'll stick with it.
Iconic, an interesting thought, particularly about porn images and will make me think about this in relation to labiaplasty (something I don't really understand). |

Porn I think has a lot to answer for, as the majority of actors/actresses have perfect body's and intimate parts.

Vagina's are like cocks, everyone is different in its own unique way.
Seem many over the years and love them all, all shapes and sizes. I do not have a preference as to a type that I like better over the other.

think its more the perception by some individuals of porn which is the issue..
and other industries pushing the perfect body, quite often by surgery..
we are all different etc, if 'ones bits' are in working order and healthy that should be enough..
dont like the idea that kids can access porn on their phones etc, yes when we were young we all by and large looked for it..
but it would be something like H&E or a soft core magazine..
nowadays its too full on.. |

If never considered it till about 8 years ago and my best friend was disgussing hers and how she wanted surgery to remove her flood flaps as she called them and I totally did t gave a clue what she was talking about after several drinks we ended up comparing and I must say my initial thought was hers looked battered and bruised compared to mine and she wanted to take a pic of mine to take to her surgeon yet must guys I've spoken to have said they like the inner lips to be a bit fleshy as mine look job existent its something for them to play with using their tongue so from her perspective mine was perfect from most guys I'm missing something extra to play with !!! |

My vagina doesn't look like the porn actresses, neither does it look like it did when I was 20.
My outer vagina lips are not overly big and are fairly symmetrical. However my inner labia are visible and not tucked away like the porn actresses are. They don't hang over the outer labia but they are visible. One of them is slightly fatter than the other too.
I guess I am abnormal in terms of what is considered beautiful |

I (Trev) like others think that Porn certainly does have to be blamed for lots of things, for instance think how the average black guy feels! Not only does he feel the pressure to measure up, but also he feels objectified because of his skin tone! What about women with flat chests, personaly im quite attracted to them and repulsed by massive baps!

No, men are not getting the blame, as just as many women describe vaginas in negative terms.
But in relation to men, are men more confident about the way they look. I don't think they are because men always seem to want to compare size etc.
But I do think there are more negative terms for womens bits than there are for mens, and those crude terms come from men |

Mine is neat and everything's tucked away. Lol. I prefer it that way.

I find this attitude is really positive.
As I said before mine would not be considered as perfect.
But I am happy with it. It looks ok to me and I'm not embarrassed by it. I know it doesn't look like it did when I was younger, but then neither will any womens who is of a similar age to me |

I have no issues at all in how mine looks,I think that the perfect image of how someone should look to be considered beautiful right now in society is about all body aspects and will change yet again over the years
Men have it too,6 pack was'nt a term id heard of years ago,yet it seems all men have to have one to be considered beautiful themselves,if you have body confidence then social and media pressure won't affect you,sadly not everyone does though
As for crude names for vaginas,well yes I find some are really quite stomach churning descriptions,but there are also some pretty vulgar ones for mens genetalia too |

I think swinging Internet sites do rather than swinging per se. People examining photos, "fabbing" or not fabbing. Also this constant scrutinising of one another's looks. I think these sites can damage confidence by bringing to the forefront these types of questions. I honestly couldn't give a toss what a vagina looks like. Well, i watched a programme once about ladies in america having vagina cosmetic surgery. It was so sad. There was a young girl of about 21 having it done as she thought she was abnormal compared to pictures she had seen. One woman was having it done as her ex husband had taunted her since she had had children.
I thought it was terrible that others had driven these women to have such surgery because they lacked confidence |

I have never understood why some choose to use very negative words or phrases when describing a vagina.
They certainly are all different, clean and healthy are a prerequisite but I cannot imagine being attracted to a women and then once all was revealed not finding her vagina attractive. Maybe its because it hasn't happened to me yet.
That said, I have seen some closeup pictures of vaginas that don't do it for me, I guess I need to see the full picture to know whether the package is gonna float my boat so to speak. |
