set boundaries.
make it clear that you wish not to be contacted when on leave.
you are happy to help but your rate when on leave is £125 per call/email etc and each call is charged x4 hours regardless of call duration.
i did this and also printed out an invoice. they never called me again! |

This culture of always being available really annoys me.
You shouldn't need to go to those lengths but I know why you did.
I've known people take work on holiday abroad and Mr N was once told he had his priorities wrong when he put a family occasion before a work one. |

"I am on holiday today but all I have done is emails and phone calls.
Holidays are pointless "
I know this scenario all too well, used to believe it was "par for the course" but have recently been better at establishing clear boundries and also teaching myself not to read that email that just flashed up!
The self discipline alone will make a significant improvement for you

"Thank you for using the word “have” correctly.
It’s so annoying the way it has been replaced with “of” like some others do. "
Oh god, do I agree with this! It comes from people misunderstanding that should've is a contraction, not two words.
It drives my inner grammar nazi crazy! |
