If it's a friendly chat then there is no time limit. If there was no reply within a day of a first message being seen. Not sure with regards to an ongoing message exchange leading to a potential meet - I've just deleted one after 2 months.

"How long do you wait before you write someone off after you've messaged?
5.5 mins
Mins or seconds I'm familiar with man timings "

I think if they haven’t read my message or replied after a day or two, I’d assume they weren’t interested. I appreciate people are busy and have a life away from here so I don’t really expect a reply straight away. |

expect nothing.
but be careful of getting into long conversations that never seem to be going anywhere.
once that happens your friendzoned and thats game over.
any sign of doubt or delay in my experience it isnt going to happen because people who want to meet do, and they are excited too.
your time is the most precious, your life could change in a blink of an eye so dont let anyone control your time.
everyone seems ruthless, monkey see monkey do.

"Immediately.
Once the message is sent, it's out of our hands until (unless) there's a reply.
"
This. It's unusual that I send a message, but when I do, it's generally ignored, so I "fire and forget" if I then get a response back, great. If not, doesn't matter as I'd forgotten about it. |
