I have worn Issey Miyake Nuit for the last 6 or 7 years and love it, both for the smell and the compliments it gets me.
However, in the last few months I've noticed I can smell it less and less when I use it.
So Fabbers I need some suggestions for a new scent please! Stuff you wear and love, stuff you love to smell on anyone. I'd say my max budget is £100 a bottle.
All comedy answers - Joop/high karate etc will be reported to admin.
Many thanks. |

"Ah you’ve gone nose blind
I used to love Lacoste red on a chap "
Yes! Sad really I absolutely loved the smell. Maybe if I leave it alone for a few years it'll come back to me. |

Nasal olfactory. When you get too used to something and can’t smell it but everyone else can. Bvlgari pour homme is lovely. Dior Sauvage is gorgeous but very popular. Paco Rabanne invictus is also gorgeous and I love Ultraviolet. Makes me weak at the knees. |

I find all these recommendation things a bit odd, because everything smells different on everyone. (And if everyone loves Eau de Example from Le Company, wouldn't you want to wear something that everyone else isn't wearing?)
There are subscription services where you can buy a large tester per period and give them a go to see how it works for you - that's what I would do if I were in the market. |

I was given Invictus, Fahrenheit and Santal 33 as gifts and thought they all smelled like cats piss on me.
I refuse to spend silly money on fragrance so I'll always buy dupes but no one fragrance is going to suit everyone.

"Unless you go around sniffing yourself why not just stick with Miyake? "
Because I loved the smell of it but now I can't smell it, so what's the point of wearing it. |

My plan was to take the 4 or 5 most popular on here and go try them out and pick my favourite from that. |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
Tobias should definitely get himself one if he needs one.
Posh likes Fahrenheit. On some men. And original Issey on some men. And Creed (actually Kreed, the excellent knock off) on some men. Posh thinks it depends on the man as to what smells good on him. |

"Depends on how much you want to spend really but a few I've noticed are:
Chanel Bleu
Dior Sauvage
Paco Rabanne Pure XS or Invictus
Hugo Boss
JPG Pour Homme
"
I stalked and then cornered a young waiter on my 40th birthday because he smelled absolutely wonderful, after a bit of interrogation I found out it was Chanel bleu |

I think what you actually heard from the poor waiter was Sacre Bleu, after you leapt out at him from behind the cheese trolley, Chicken. |

Bleu de Chanel gets a lot of love on these kind of forums. It’s already been mentioned by a few posters above.
There is a reason for that that. It’s an absolute classic. It’s also very versatile. Will give you good performance. I would definitely consider that one. You can pick up the EDT for a reasonable price.
I have just finished chemo and as a treat to myself I have purchased the EDP (eau de parfum). I previously owned the EDT (eau de toilette). It’s a bit more pricey at £125 for 150ml but like I said not was a special treat. |

Armani Stronger with you (intensely) is within your budget. Penhaligon Halfeti is sometimes on offer for £120. The best price I found for creed in £230.
That’s the only 3 I currently wear, I wouldn’t worry about price , the good ones you use much less so they work out cheaper |

"Try Prada. A decent bottle of Eau du Perfume will set you back £80 maybe and there a few scents to perk your senses.
The original Amber was and still is one of the best "
Prada Black is VERY nice too |

"Thank you so far guys, keep them coming. How many are you getting? Lot's to choose from here. Haha "
I'll take the 5 most popular from here and try them all. If I'm feeling decadent I might get 3. If my credit card bill has just come in, I'll be getting a small bottle of the cheapest one. |

Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man Limited Edition - Smells like creed Aventus arguably the best dupe. I would say blind buy this is compliments galore.
Mancera Cedrat Boise - This is a niche perfume don't over do it as it's strong. If you like Citrus and white musk this is the one the perfume is just gorgeous. This will get you compliments.
Terre De Hermes - Dirty earthy orange and masculine - sample it on the skin before buying.
Versace Dylan Blue - A really nice blue fragrance dry down is lush.
Bleu De Chanel - Arguably the best blue fragrance.
Dior Homme Intense Man - sample it before buying this is very masculine and the perfect all rounder. You can pickup a 150ml bottle for £120 - £130.
Rasasi La Yaqawam - Tom Ford Tuscan Leather clone on steroids.
Armani Profumo - perfect citrus fragrance.
My recommendations are:
Armaf and Cedrat Boise you can probably pickup both for £100. Maybe not the limited edition of Armaf but the eau de toilette (5 - 7 hours of performance). Safe even as a blind buy. These are the fragrances people often stop and ask me what I'm wearing.
Sorry for the long post... Just love perfume. If you are into dupes I can also recommend a few more. |
