What is it with the profile thing ?
Does anyone really care if you like poetry and all the little animals or don't like liars or have been hurt in the past ?

If you're only interested in the aesthetics or cock size or whatever, you do you. It's all good.
I genuinely don't have much interest in what someone looks like as long as they're not an absolute no for me. The person is far more important than the aesthetic. The profile text amd messages are more relevant to me, personally.
But that doesn't mean either of us is wrong or right. Just different people with different things we seek  |

Accurate. The most finely crafted profile is meaningless if you're not physically attractive to others.
However, if you are and pair that with a well crafted profile your chances greatly improve (speaking as a man). |

You are right in that it even if they’ve wrote a sonnet or the most amazing opening message ever, if their face is awful or they just add on a cock pic or that’s their profile pic then it’ll never change.
But having a decent profile definitely opens more doors.

A lot of it is physical attraction but the bio is what makes me want to reach out. If it's a long list of no's and bitterness then I won't bother but if it's funny and witty then I'm more than happy to give it a go in messaging them. Long story short, yes, curating your profile is important |

Profile content isn't always going to be accurate or a true reflection of the person. They could have words that hit everything you may be looking for but, it could have been written by someone else or a hybrid of all the profile advice given on here. It's not till you get chatting that you can scratch the surface on the person behind the words. |

I need to like them as a person, there has to be a little spark, a sense of excitement about them, as well as liking their looks.

Totally get the point about physical attraction being necessary. Of course it is.
However, a profile is a good indicator as to that individual’s/couple’s mindset and personality. It helps me understand them before I consider messaging her/them.
There are many beautiful people on fab who are devoid of nice thoughts (or indeed any thoughts at all) in their pretty heads. And that doesn’t work for me.
I’m not looking for a mastermind champion but someone who can actually hold a conversation and make me fancy the whole person.
And at least some text on a profile gives me something to talk about in that all important first message. |

I like a good profile. Especially the ones that make me laugh. But yes the photos have to be appealing too.
But then it's all a mix isn't it. Some of the blandest profiles with hardly any pics have good people behind them and vice versa.
