I am due to go away on Tuesday.
This morning, I gave my travelling companion £600 to change into Euros.
He popped into Argos on his way to change the money and left his wallet containing said £600 at a self service till.
It has gone walkabout.
I will calm down shortly and be more practical but for now can I just add another AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH ! |

Oh bugger!
A big oops there Bussy mate!
Would be nice to think somebody will hand it in either to the shop or the police - but doubt you'll be that lucky!
Major bad luck but have a good trip! |

That does sound odd, surely all stores now have CCTV?
Can you still go on your trip? |

nope neither mine nor my friends home insurance has cover for loss of cash outside the house
in all fairness to him, he has been into the bank and transferred cash from his credit card into his current and has sorted the cash out for me
so i am now screaming much less
I feel so bad for him though - cos if I feel bad, heaven only knows how he feels
So I am now waiting for the next thread asking 'if you found a wallet with money would you help yourself or hand it in ?'
Woe be tide anyone who says they'd pocket it |

I once dropped my purse a few years ago now.... It had a lot of cash in it about £400 and various vouchers for various shops, it was my own fault I dropped it as I hadn't put it away properly, was dreading telling my OH at the time as he wasn't an understanding man..... I rang the police station, and no purse had been handed in, so gave up hope! Had a phone call that evening from a lovely lady saying that she had picked up a purse and it had my phone number in!! I was so relieved as it still had all the money and vouchers in it!!!

Good for him, but yes must be a terrible feeling.
I once had £400 in my purse, no bag, just shoved it in my jacket pocket.
I was on the way to the bank with it, but stopped at a shop first.
I purchased what I wanted to, left and started to drive away...I realised my jacket pocket felt empty and had a panic attack.
I went back to the shop and a lady saw my purse lying in the car park, she had handed it in.
I was expecting my cash to be gone, but it wasn't.
So there are some good people in this world! |

This is why I don't tend to carry cash now!
It's not that i'm always skint - it's just that there's very few honest people that would hand it in if you dropped your wallet! |

with the moon n stars somewhere in gtr manc |
Oh no!
Here's hoping they find it by the end of the day.
As for no cctv on self serve tils, guess they dont need it in argos as its just paying for things not scanning items and packing.
Big hels hugs and hope the trip makes up for it xxx |

I've never lost a wallet in my life. Yet. My brother, on the other hand, should never be let anywhere near anything that is approx 6" square, leather and has a press stud on it. |
