A Spanish so called low cost airline has been been fined for its dress code that asked it's female air hostesses to wear foundation, mascara and 3 inch heels.
Is that really so unreasonable. ?

Firms are being taken to town over sexist dress codes...no reason why an airline shouldn't either.
Times have changed, if a woman wants to wear high heels in her job then crack on, but if she doesn't she shouldn't fear losing her income. |

"It's not as if they are forced to wear 6 inch heels..
"
It still forces your feet and body into an unnatural position.
It may not look like much to someone who has probably never worn heels in his life, but even low heels put more pressure on the balls of your feet and can cause knee and lower back pain.
If you wouldn't expect Men to do it, don't expect Women to. |

As long as it's a uniform dress code for everyone in the company. From company president downwards. Regardless of age, gender or appearance. Oh, and if it's a new dress code that has just been introduced and is being forced onto existing employees, not whatever the dress was when they joined the company, they are well within their rights to refuse it and claim compensation if they are dismissed.
But really yes, I just want to see the (presumably all male if they're making these decisions) board of the company all dressed in padded bras and tight tops, miniskirts, stockings and heels, with lippy and eye shadow, making financial presentations or whatever the hell it is that these people do to get paid 50 times what they pay their employees... |

I totally agree with not being ordered to wear heels regardless of size and the same goes for skirts blouses etc….
Yes some companies insist on a dress code that is usually supplied by the company
I think the shoes should be practical!
But no matter how much compromise the company gives they won’t please all the employees regardless
As some would insist on a low heel some would insist on flats
Providing they are of smart appearance and suitable I don’t see what the issue is
But what would I know |
