Over the rainbow, under the bridge |
I often buy M n S ones (hold ups) and they can last. I find the fishnet ones don't ladder or get holes easily. And in this weather I wear opaques quite a lot.
I have also managed to find a few pairs of funky ones in TK Maxx quite cheap and have ordered some off ebay which were reasonably priced.
Since I wear them all the time, anything which saves me money of them is more than welcome. Also, if you get a hole in one of them you only throw that one out and have a spare, as opposed to tights where the whole pair has to be binned. |

I don't like really cheap ones because I find them hit and miss whether they stay in place. I therefore only tend to buy Jasper Conran ones which aren't overly expensive, between the £B - £12 mark. I find that these don't ladder very easily and have a wide band of lace at the top which I like. Ill always stock up in the sale where they sell for about £5 then.

I sell stockings from as cheap as £1 a pair right up to genuine forties vintage for about £20, they are all different in their own little ways and I would be happy to advise anyone that might be interested, x |

"Can't buy cheap ones being a bigger girl. "
Even more difficult if you're big (size 18/20) AND tall (35" inside leg). I really struggle to find any which have a wide enough thigh and will reach far enough up the leg |

just recently I have found that hold ups just don't "hold up" so I've changed to stockings and suspenders because I got fed up of walking down the corridor at work feeling one hold up slowly slipping down my leg |

"Which are better? Expensive stockings or cheap ones? or are they both the same x "
I love stockings of all types on a woman, least favourite are fishnet, adore seamed and glossy. Most important are the legs they are on!
(Love your pics by the way!)

"I'd like some fairly cheapish hold ups but cannot find any that fit comfortably around my ample thighs! Would any of you lovely ladies care to advise me? "
little tip I was given and it works for me, apply body lotion to your thighs. Hold ups stay up! |

Most of my stocking are by Levee, about £10 a pair, purely because they fit like a dream and stay put. I have a few pairs i picked up in Primark that do stay put and were only £3 per pair, so basically I wear what are comfy and look good regardless of price. |
