"This means I'll be outside doing windmill at 6am as part of my yearly ritual to see spring in
Nice. What do you do for summer solstice...? "
I used to party with a group of friends to see that in but I'm too old for that now |

People always say that when I tell them about the time I got sucked by 100 ladies one after the other, people just don't believe without hard evidence |

I can't wait for lighter evenings! There's something rather romantic and magical about staying up, outside, as the sun sets and that dusky hue fills the sky. It's going to be a wonderful summer. |

You'd lose an hour if it went back
Nope, you lose an hour (nobody actually loses anything ) if they go forward. "
That's right. You get your 7 hours kip and when you wake it's 8 o clock and not 7. |

Such a palaver changing it in my car that I leave it on UTC all the year round.
As a worldwide communicator, I'm used to using UTC anyway. The hour change thought up by William Willett from Chiselhurst works moderately well and is not quite ready to be dropped. |

But it's still an extra hour as it's went forward if it went back you'd get up an hour less but gain in the evening rather than going to sleep at the usual time in theory it's 8 but it's 9 |

I went to bed on Friday night at 11 and got up at 7. 8 hours sleep after a 16 hour day
Last night I went to bed at 11 and got up at 7. Because the clocks had gone forward at around 2am to 3am I lost an hour's sleep in the night, 7 hours sleep.
Tonight if I go to bed at 11 I will still have had 16 hours in my day |

"Thankfully I didn't lose an hour, so my net hourage is zero.
Although my clocks have also gone back an hour, I sneaked in a cheeky hour's kip mid-afternoon yesterday "
Nobody has lost anything really since we're all going to be alive for the same number of hours regardless of what the clock, candle or sundial says. |

In the 'olden days' before alarm clocks and where there were no knocker uppers people would put nails in candles. As they knew how quickly the candle burned they knew where to place the nail so that it would fall out and wake them at the appropriate time |

No kittens would be allowed near the candle or the nail though |

The day becomes shorter as the hour went forward when it goes back it'll be a longer day meaning working an extra hour |
