I read a bit in one of the papers which said the accident involved injuring other members of the film crewe, which could be the reason why he decided to quit. It's one thing hurting yourself, but another putting others at risk is another.

Accident happened way back in January. Was pretty serious facial injuries he received. Family wanted it kept quiet that is why there has been no news .

Been reading about it although had heard about it via other channels....

Seems sad to cancel the whole thing... especially after all the crashes Hammond had when filming it.

Top gear will be missed for me.
