Modern life

Our friends have no mobile phones, no TV and no internet. They are both have high flying jobs but, are also amature musicians and spend their spare practising together and playing gigs. I dont watch TV hardly ever anymore, but i couldnt do without the net and my phone. Could you live without the a tv? or a computer and live without modern things or are you a sucker for gadgets?

I could live without a TV, but watch it on the laptop on demand as its all I seem to do these days!!

couldn't live without phone, especially for emergencies and no way I could live without internet.

that does sound like bliss, I think we should give up all gadgets once week and do something interesting.

Bet your friends don't go to gigs in a horse and cart, or wear 14th century clothes, or have a water pump in the yard, or have oil lamps and candles!

It's interesting how selective we can be regarding modern conveniences...the poor old telly, and now mob phones/internet now seem to bare the brunt of our ' return to simpler things'

It tends to be a comforting puritanical January thing that for most of us doesn't make February.

Mind numbing wastes of time to some people might be Nirvana to others!...we are lucky to live in a time where we have that choice.

I am a gadget man/geek (don't look like a librarian )

No way I want to spend my evenings playing dominoes by candle light.
