"Who else is looking forward to the clocks changing this weekend? I know we 'lose' an hour in bed but the later evenings make up for it."
I know Cj is looking forwards to the lighter evenings.
I prefer when it gets darker! |

"Nope! Just when it started getting lighter when I wake up to go to the gym in the early morning, I get plunged back into darkness "
But it will soon be light in the early morning again. |

I think we should be thankful to the guys working for English Heritage, who have to move the stone henge back and forth each year so it shows the right time... |

Grånny, what about those indispensable volunteers who work for The National Trust and have to adjust the stone Sun Dials, biannually? |

You mean aside from statistical evidence?
Life expectancy of around 64 in 1944, vs 80+ now. Higher infant mortality. Diseases such as diphtheria and polio. Bombs dropping on people's heads and a lack of proper stable diets due to rationing and production issues due to the war.
Widely accepted by who exactly?

"I wish they'd stop doing it
Which one would you choose?"
Summer Time, every time. Keep it as light as possible as long as possible in the evenings to do things after work.
And in the summer, on GMT (which don't forget was only ever introduced to standardise railway timetables) there are hours of daylight wasted in the early morning. Start the day later and get more done in the light
And most early risers are borderline psychopaths anyway... |
