Reports that a dog has attacked a london police horse in Victoria Park and the horse is badly injured... The horse fell to the ground after his legs were repeatedly bitten
The owner could not control his horse. What is going on here guys..

The last horse I saw get bitten by a dog ended up nearly being put to sleep.
Horses aren't like other domesticated animals and a broken leg is usually a death sentence as they can't be kept still to keep weight off. You can't just slap on a plaster cast like you can with dogs, cats, other animals and people.
A bad bite to a leg could mean irreparable ligament or tendon damage.
Dogs should always be on leads around horses and any other livestock.

I've been on a horse that was attacked by a dog ... it really isn't nice and always the dog's owner's fault. The injuries can be horrific, let's face dog's kill people

I think the rider stayed on because had they gotten off the horse would have run amok, dog in tow, through the heavily populated streets. Damage limitation |

We had dogs when I was younger. A Labrador and a collie. Obviously the collie liked chasing things, so he was kept well away from fields of sheep etc. The Lab liked retrieving things and as a younger dog, would try to retrieve live, as well as decomposing animals. So we kept him away from animals and both were kept on leads unless it was absolutely appropriate not to.
Strange that both dogs made it to 13 or 14yrs without killing anything, apart from a pair of slippers and a wicker basket. |

They do if attending a riot etc but it was in a park not expecting any issues, any dog with "bull" it's its name was originally bred to bring down large cattle etc so instinctive.
Needs putting down or at worst an order to be muzzled in public. |

I hope so. An awful shame for all involved but the owner shouldn't be allowed a dog of any kind.
I don't know him but I base my conclusion on watching him in the video , seeing pictures of him in the papers and reading his responses to the situation. His answers show clearly that he lacks responsibility of any kind. |

When interviewed he said the dog was off the lead being 'trained' and it was the horses fault fir becoming skittish when the dog showed an interest and it spooked him and caused him to react 
He just stood there and did nothing while bystanders tried to control the dog and then had the audacity to blame the horse

Yes, if this happened in the country side then the farmer would of shot the dog annoying his livestock if he had seen it and rightly so. So yes Tom, the owner will probably get off lightly and the dog will pay the price |

So one animal lover will be upset the horse suffered and the other that the dog died but the ignorant owner just loses his dog but may get fined for not having it on its lead or a muzzle on it |
