Gentlemën, Ladiës, Binariës and Whateveriës...
I have a predilection for cut flowers. Those kaleidoscopic offerings from nature, effusing their scented hues, taking pride of place in one's living room, and beaming brightly for all to gaze upon in the nascent season of Spring.
Join me and pay homage to flowers. More so now with the chapter of Winter closing and the turning page of Spring unfurling.
This gentleman loves cut flowers.
Did I ever parley about cut flowers?
I have now. |

I don't like cut flowers. Why would you take something so lovely and cause it's untimely demise just so that you can selfishly gaze upon it's beauty for a while?
I love to see flowers growing though. A wild flower meadow or poppies growing in cornfields are wonderful sights. |

"I love having a vase a daffodils on the table at this time of year. " I do usually but haven't found many, surprisingly this year. They do look gorgeous arranged nicely in a cut-glass vase |

"Maybe a springtime cut-flowers pic day/week in order, Nero??
I like that idea.
I love spring flowers and then freesia and sweet peas when it's their time too
J"
Foliage Friday matches, but could be misconstrued….!!
I love seeing flowers but I tend not to buy them. Like many others, I like to see them in nature. My favourites are the carpets of bluebells in woodland, so pretty; and wildflower meadows. I wish I could have a house with a small meadow. |

"I have a lovely bunch of tulips! They cheer me up every time I look at them! Actually a photo opportunity there may be for this afta! X"
Jesus, I’ve been on fab too long. In my head I immediately replaced tulips with coconuts |

I love having them at work on the tables and encourages learning through provocation, it is amazing what art the children produce just from having flowers along with paper and colouring pencils on the table |

Currently adding a lot of flowers for cutting into our garden. Lots of roses and dahlias, more varieties starting ready to go out soon. Could talk for hours about flowers. |

I absolutely love tulips, don’t really like any other flowers.
I have about 500 from the tulip museum in Amsterdam, some very rare and some just starting to wake up this week.
I also do Guerrilla tulip bulb planting when out running , sometimes in corners of fields, on highway roundabouts and verges or other peoples gardens. My babies are everywhere…. |

It’s conversations like this one that bring home the marked difference in seasons/climates between the South and us up here in Scotland.
My snowdrops are still hanging on. My daffs are only just beginning to bloom. My wild garlic hasn’t even shown itself yet. Buds are barely beginning to appear on my hedges, bushes and trees. My wildflower meadow lays barren and brown.
It will take a couple of months before I can realistically partake in the joys of spring.
On the upside, I’ll be swimming in floral majesty well into the depths of September. So it isn’t all bad. |

Oh you have wild garlic as well! You're living my dream home life.
Op, I love bluebell and snowdrop walks at this time of year. I also do something called forest bathing and will be shortly which is a wanky term for being mindful in a forest.
I do like some cut flowers (memories/definition of them) but I'd rather be given wildflower seeds. Or wild garlic butter. |

Cut and come again flowers dont mind being picked. Positively need it infact to keep going all summer long so it never feels to bad to take their blooms. |

I love flowers during winter/spring but my nose and eyes do not appreciate them in the summer months and I have to request no one buys me any during that time unless they're also giving me advance warning to take antihistamines.

I swear, I’m looking around at my favourite chefs posting their wild garlic recipes on Instagram and then looking out at the shady parts of my garden where the wild garlic grows and seeing nothing but the very first signs of shoots. So far behind up here. |

I love seeing all the spring flowers out, always makes me smile.
Tulips are also my favorite flowers, I have a vase of wooden ones from the tulip museum next to my tv.
Would just melt if someone brought me flowers, but if they brought me a house plant...swoon x |

"Usually it's nice to have a vase of roses on top of the piano. But I must confess, at this time of year I prefer tulips around my organ.
"

Oooft!
A Primula for you Pianoforte, a Clematis for your Clavichord, Hyacinth for your Harpsichord, a Violet for your Virginals, Snowdrops for your Synthesizer and an Orchid for your Organ.
She doesn't want one lip around her organ, she wants tu'lips. |

I love flowers, arrangements, I have quite a lovely garden, etc etc.
I especially enjoy that when I prune and place my cut flowers in vases or arrangements, I am also helping the plant to survive by encouraging it to regrow, it helps ward off diseases and certain bugs, it provides fresh pollen sources for our busy pollinators and helps the plant stay healthy.
Just food for thought. |
