It's easier to get in at off peak times. The huge queues are always caused by those waiting to fill up, who don't seem to wake up until mid day.
I went off Costco MANY years ago. Ridiculous to pay to shop there and they are not particularly reasonably priced. |

There’s usually a queue for the fuel as it’s so cheap, not to get into the store itself though. The one in Birmingham is the busiest I’ve ever seen, once inside. The tills move people through quick.

I mean I use Costco and do find it good - but I would never be queuing to get in! Fuel is much cheaper but given it's a 30min drive to go there for me I only go if in that area anyway.
Did get a good deal on an airfryer the other week though |

Costco Birmingham.
Fuel typically 12p a litre cheaper so really long queue, and you have to queue from the roundabout.
Fuel is only available at some Costco's, but it is alwsys cheap.
If you're shopping but not for fuel, you can go in through the car park entrance with a minimal queue.

My local Costco is about 1.5 miles from my home. The diesel at present is 149.9. The next cheapest to me 163.9. They did have queues. But now direct cars around car parking area . To stop delays getting in and blocking entrance road. I find food items cheaper. Meat etc. Yes do have to buy large packs. |

I do love Costco trip.
Their bakery is amazing... plenty of samples at weekends.
Can be expensive for some things, especially if you add vat.
Fuel is cheaper.
Downfall, weekends are always mobbed.

My thought from using. I do not buy clothing or most things with vat. My exceptions are toilet and kitchen rolls. Yes vat added, but pack sizes work out cheaper .
As I have posted. Mainly buy meat, fish or food items which are vat free. Yes downsize is large packs of most non vat products.
I have worked out over a year. My purchases have more than paid for membership fee, especially now local Costco has fuel. |
