The videos, of course.
They are what inspired a huge part of my life, the art behind them, the music and how artists created the imagery they wanted behind their music. Would thriller still have the impact it does? Would sledgehammer have even made it into the top ten? Would george micheal make it past being in Wham? So many of these artists, even Metallica and Slayer and Tool - all owe thanks for making them rich; but also how that industry gave so many people jobs and created so many more as a result. (Think if the gaming industry and movie industry)
Unplugged sessions were amazing and I still find myself listening to some of those sessions with the exact same intensity.
And of course - the shows. Newlyweds. The real world. Pimp my ride. Punk'd. MTV helped to shape the reality TV world in good and bad ways; but respect has to be paid to them for being part of paving that way.
And every September - the MTV music awards.
Sorry for the long winded - but it is my generation and it is absolutely one of the best parts of my generation in my opinon.
