Today is special for many many people, and for those people Happy Mothers Day.
I am very aware however that for others, and for various reasons, today will be a struggle.
If that is you, I have a hug especially for you. Yes YOU.

I had an abusive biological mother AND an passive aggressive abusive step mother.
So this day goes over my head, though I do appreciate that there are many good/great/fantastic mothers out there and they deserve this day,
So not bitter. and thank god for good woman as the ying yang effect is that though both my mothers where shit to me. I had 2 non biological family to me woman who where wonderful. |

You know that this year (for the first time ) today is a very hard day for me OP, but this thread has made me feel less alone. My heart breaks for those that have posted above and I’m sure for those that will post below so massive hugs, love and positive thoughts to all. I’m very much looking forward to my in person hug from you tomorrow though OP  D x |

Today is very hard, my daughter recently miscarried for the 2nd time. Seeing the pain in her eyes this morning was heart breaking!
So to all you wonderful mums, step mums, nans, aunties, you are all amazing!
And a big hug to those of you hurting today xx |

My heart goes with you and to anyone else who may be struggling today.
My mam is here, though not. After a massive stroke at the start of the year, I moved her into a care home on Friday. I gave up work s year ago to look after her but Im incapable of providing the 24hr care she needs now.
Although everyday is special, today does feel symbolic, I don’t want to leave her as I feel this will be our last Mother’s Day together. |

Not a fan of mothers day, I try my best to ignore it. I'm happy to see my friends embrace it on social media but the constant exposure with targeted advertising does piss me off a bit. I was disproportionately annoyed by logging on to Spotify and them spamming me with talk of mothers day and suggesting I share a playlist with my mom, felt weirdly intrusive thst one |

My mum died when I was 28 so has been gone for quite a while now. Have her a little thought earlier today.
Jennie - you’re a fantastic human bean for this thread and just being you. Always looking out for others is such a nice quality.
