A few pounds, for the life of me I cannot get a six pack so I’m going on a clean cut, I’ve noticed if I throw in a pack of whole grain rice with my air fryer chicken every day that’s helping, any tips you sexy fuckers

Diet alone ain’t gonna do it. Exercise too.

Plus I’ve got quite a varied diet, but I always stick to the 3, carbs/protein/veg. So far it’s worked and I’ve lost 5.5st with it.

Look up the general motors diet. My business partner went on it and lost a stone in 2 weeks. It's maintaining it after that's the hard part

Diet with exercise, whenever I want to loose weight I just eat from a little plate rather than a usual meal size one, easy way to cut down without all the counting.

I’ve lost 9 st in total…. Don’t look at it as a diet just a lifestyle change.. I found counting calories easy , along with diet recipes and exercise. Getting plenty of water In as well.

Ti loose weight I have to cut out a lot of carbs and calorie count and I have to exercise 5/6 times a week. It's extremely difficult to maintain this hence I'm not at my slimmest, yet again

I do think breakfast sets you up for the day and kick starts your metabolism.

Just a few hints but everyone is different, my own experience. I have tried all of the so called diet aids.

What worked is cutting alcohol down to a minimum, minimising all bad carbs. Exercise 20k steps a day usually, walking dog and other exercise. Eating 3 times day, cereal with fruit, light lunch or light tea (if you have a full lunch).

Do not eat after 8pm not always possible, so no late night snacks. Green tea before bed, i didn't know until somebody told me that one.

Also i found that you plateau regularly (loose a few pounds and then stop) which is frustrating but if you keep at it. Fasting you loose weight but your body goes in to starvation mode when you eat again and you put it all back on.

Lost 2st just following the above

Well done you, that's great!

I don't have the time for 20k steps/exercise at the moment which is the downfall

The simple way to say it is you must burn more calories than you consume. Concentrate on eating more healthily and drinking a lot of water rather than coffee, tea, alcohol etc.

Exercise definitely helps if you want to get in shape but when it comes to losing weight the most important thing by far is what goes in your mouth.

My work means long hours so sometimes not eating after 8 is impossible but intermittent fasting ie skip breakfast lunch at noon and then big meal as near to 8 as possible looks do-able, thanks for all the advice

Exactly this. Another misconception to make you buy countless “healthy breakfast”products which are everything but healthy.

Loads of good tips there. I'm fairly strict about the 3 meals and eating early in the evening apart from when Im on holiday... Luckily I'm in a position where I currently don't need to lose any weight.

My general advice is a balanced nutritious diet, everything in moderation and plenty of exercise preferably outdoors. Although the indoors variety helps too....

I've not been to the gym for a good 20yrs and do nothing physical on a daily basis but still have abbs if tense up. I know people who've been to the gym every day and calorie counted with religious extremes and as much as they've toned up, abbs haven't appeared.

Honestly, appearance is no sign of fitness. If you want to get fit, do some cardio (swimming, rowing, cycling, steps maybe jogging) and work on core strength

I’ve always been fairly slim but realised I’d put on weight during lockdown. Had to do something about it.

I Normally hate diet books but respected Tom Spector so thought I’d give his book “ Spoon-Fed: Why almost everything we've been told about food is wrong” a go.

It’s basically common sense. Eat smaller portions. Skip meals if not hungry. Drink less alcohol. Don’t snack. Eat more vegetables and a wide variety of them. That’s it.

Interestingly he said exercise had little impact. You’d have to run for half an hour to work off a mars bar (or something). Better not to eat the mars bar.

Worked did me. I’ve cut out alcohol mid week. Eating more steamed veg - large portions of hungry. And skip meals when I can. When I do eat midweek I’ve discovered which foods I enjoy are lower calorie. Weekends I drink like a fish and eat like a pig.

Worked for me. I’ve lost the 4 stones I put on, and am back down 70kg (11 stones). I’m 6 foot with a long body so that’s pretty good for me.

Good luck

I was going to suggest the same, also what does your diet consist of, type of excersise as we get older we have to take that into consideration, dna, how much time do you have to get and maintain one.

Getting one is quite easy, keeping it is the hard work.

It is difficult, lucky where i live and i love walking the dog. But for me it was about getting in to a routine that works for me and sticking to it, there is no quick fix. This calories in out to me is just another marketing ploy.

I was obbsessed with calories non of which worked for me. If i went out id be seeing how many calories i could avoid often would end up with side salad for main. But that said being mindfull of calories was diferent.

Set realistic targets or milestones to get to your target weight. And try and stick to them, don't worry if you don't as long as you are near.

Now i can go out have a nice meal couple of glasses of wine, and if i put on a couple pounds so be it, just modify my routine slightly for next week, maybe a couple of days have a light lunch and tea etc and weight will balance out.

So what worked for me.

Setting realistic targets on my journey

Balanced meals

Routine

Mindful but not obsessed with calories

Exercise

And the hardest, not loosing heart.

Hope some of this helps
