"Online. I get too impatient/ tired/ annoyed / frustrated physically going shopping"
This is exactly how I feel about shopping online. I won't buy anything online if I can help it. |

Online for 99.9% of things, as its usually always cheaper. I do still like going food shopping though, but being able to do it online and get it delivered on occasion is a nice option to have. |

"Online mostly. It's just more convenient.
Pxx"
Doesn't feel convenient to me. It feels like fannying around with a credit card and a website.
I do sometimes Google what I want and when I see the shop which stocks it I'll then go and get it.

"Online for products, shopping trips for clothes. Love the whole experience, trying stuff on, pitstops for coffee/wine "
Yeah bottle of wine and falling over whilst trying trousers on. Might give it a go next time. |

My parcel handlers (DPD and Royal Mail) have both pre-warned me about significant price hikes in the parcel delivery industry in the near future.
The days of Free postage will soon be a mere memory, we sell both online and through our two shops, growth in the last year for us has been faster in the shops.
The company NEXT recently admitted that returns are killing their online business.

"Online it’s more easier and cheaper, and I don’t like being around people much "
We are cheaper in our shops than on our online site.
Also we regularly do price checks on Amazon and are almost always cheaper. |

I like both. Sometimes I have an image in my head of the perfect top, skirt etc and search for it. Other times I like to just mooch around and happen upon something wonderful.
That’s life in general, sometimes you search & sometimes you stumble |

I’ll buy online for some things, but clothes & food are always in real shops.
I used to use eBay, but rarely anymore as it’s full of fakes or rubbish.
Some of the electrical stuff that is supposed to be uk supplied, but is actually Chinese death traps is unreal. |

I find most people believe everything is a better deal online. I use to get people asking me about products and whilst I'm standing there they would be searching ebay for a better price. They think if it looks the same it must be the same, but it doesn't always work like that.
I've come across Chinese manufactures selling products at wholesale prices. |

"Online. I get to avoid people.
Why would you want to avoid people
They're annoying, rude, pushy, loud, and germy "
I guess you could say the same for people at a swingers club. I like to get out and about. |

Shops mainly because I have staycation trips and our towns and cities are becoming ghost towns, I've never online supermarket or clothes shopped. Amazon for other online bits because 9 times out of 10 I need it in a day or 2 |

Online. I live miles away from a city which has decent shops so don't really have much choice.
Grocery shopping I do the main shop online and get bits and pieces from the local town. |

As much as I can, I shop local and in shops.
Old school for sure. I hate giving more money to banks, credit card companies and whatever online sites and then listening to the hypocritical masses talk about how things "were so good back then". |

Mostly online. Usually I can only get the things I need online. I tend to food shop in-store or if I need something in particular for a DIY project I will go and get it or shoes, I have to try them out first.
Clothes I typically do online, mostly because of the lack of choice on the high street. With the exception of a few like suits, or jeans from Marks/Matalan or Primark. Getting Trousers in the Short and Fat category's is actually fairly difficult. |

For food/groceries I order online.
For personal items and clothing I much prefer visiting stores. I'm tactile in that I want to look, touch and feel the items of clothing, the size and fabric and then try them on for size.
Living in Central London affords me that humble convenience.
For skincare, it's mostly online. |

Online shopping mostly.
I cannot stand going to any shop that does not sell jewellery. Shopping for food is boring. Shopping for clothes is boring. Shopping for others is stressful. Shops are too hot.
I do like antique shops as I like looking through things with a bit of history to them. I like going to Charity shops to see what jewellery they have, scarfs etc. I like going to garden centres.

A healthy mix of both. Important to support high street and local shops. I certainly don't want to see the continued decline of those as I also don't want to encourage the disappearance of cash and therefore again use a mix of both in shops which you can't do online. We often walk ourselves into things and then complain when all the traditional stuff have gone. |

Online.
I have neither the will nor the inclination to trudge around shops looking for the thing I need. Paying for parking. then paying for refreshment. Dodging other people. Hauling crap from one place to another. Paying for the fuel to get there. Screaming children. Aggressive Chuggers.
.
I remember being dragged by my relatives round a local town once a month for a whole day's shopping. They were serial "moochers". Aimless wandering from one bloody clothes shop to another. Virtually a whole day wasted. Seemed insane to me then, and is even more insane to me now.
.
I'm with a poster above who said, "If they can't get it online, it's not worth getting (or words to that effect). |

Online.
I know I will pretty much know I will find what I'm looking for.
Often cheaper, especially if you consider travel costs for some shopping trips.
I don't have to deal with people, be it clerks or public.
I don't have to waste part of my day going to get what I need.
The only 2 upsides to shops are urgent purchases that next day delivery is not in time, or certain clothing items.

Online shopping is only a part of that. Its not innocent but not alone in it.
Covid dealt the death blow.
But before that, the costs of renting a shop space and all the rates along with it were already exploiting shop/business owners.
In some cases it was councils not investing enough in certain shopping areas and focusing on a single larger shopping centre.
So the stores pulled out of the smaller areas to pay the rent for the "better" location. |

Unfortunately, the unpleasant nature of shopping in person means I don't much care. |

Yeah I believe the internet is a big part of it, and rent can be ridiculous. I know someone who now sells from the back of his van because he can't afford to pay the rent anymore. |

High streets have evolved to meet the needs and demands of the majority of the population.
They are places to go to in the day to :
1. Get a quick haircut
2. Get a quick coffee/lunch
3. Get a quick manicure
In the evening, they are more social places to :
1. Pop to your local for a quick pint
2. Got to a restaurant. Most have a 2 hr turn around on a table so they can get multiple covers in an evening.
3. Go to a nightclub, spend an hour there then move on to the next one.

In shop shopping for gift/food purposes only.

"Are you all buying food online? Don't visit a supermarket?
In the main, yeah. I stay out of shops if I can help it"
I think in time people will evolve to have no legs and a computer chip inserted into the brain. Atleast that's what someone told me in a shop recently. |

"Prefer the shops but due to most shops closing have no choice but to shop online which I find very stressful, this takes the fun out of shopping days "
Same I find shopping online very stressful. I feel like I haven't done it correctly and I won't get what I ordered or they will charge my card more. |

"I have agoraphobia so I’d prefer to shop online, but I’m also poor and Aldi doesn’t offer that option. So I usually just go about 8pm"
Food shopping definitely late at night can’t stand the crowds of people in the day all panic buying like the worlds going to end, I get trolley rage lol |

Oh yeah, I go out for my food shop too. I don't want to get substitutes in my order that I won't use leading to food waste. |

I saw something today that I haven't seen for years. A van was stopped at the side of the road selling fruit and veg as far as I could see. I remember that happening many years ago with mobile grocers vans but haven't seen it for a long time. |

It's already happened. None of us have legs, we're all just brains in bottles. With virtual reality feed injected straight into the cerebellum. By next month even the brains will be gone, they're going to transcribe our thoughts and memories into silicon chips... |
