The Russians have been trying to goat the US and NATO in to a fight for years. Another video you can look up on YouTube is on of a US Navy Destroyer being followed by a Russian Navy Warship (RNW), in the video you can see the RNW cut speed so it comes to the stern of the USN ship, then the RNW speeds up as though its going to ram the USN ship before veering off at the last minute. Worth looking up. |

Worth looking up." yeah I watched a russian ship do that to one of ours, he got so close I thought he wasn't going to back off and almost hit the stern, personally if I was captain I would have fired a warning burst from a heavy machine gun into the water long before he got close enough and definitely into the super structure of Ivan about two seconds before he actually backed down, he got so close you could have thrown rocks at the bridge. Ivan is playing dangerous games.

These games have been played since the Cold War. Most of them don't make the news.
Just after the Falklands War I blagged a flight in an RAF Nimrod looking for Russian ships in the North Sea. After chasing a submarine contact for a while, which we considered a US boat. Whilst doing this we found a line of Russian helicopters in the dip, probably looking for the same US sub. Following the line of helicopters took us back to the Russian Kiev (ironic) aircraft carrier and her es corts, who we pissed off for a while taking low level photographs, all the while followed by about a dozen of their fire control radars. Boys and their toys!..I have great pictures from that trip.. |
