To be honest to everyone I have non smoker on my profile....
But I hate to feel like a hypocrite.
I only like to smoke whilst drinking.
I will sometimes smoke a cigarette if I’m drinking with friends and I see them smoking. This could be 10, 20 times per year.
I have also gotten caught up in the heat of the moment and smoked a cigarette after meeting swingers that smoke...
Now I class myself as a non smoker because I never buy cigarettes to smoke when I'm not going out.
I will never smoke alone....
If cigarettes are not around me , I have no cravings...
I don’t smoke everyday and can go weeks, months without smoking.
So am I a smoker? |

People who smoke _massively_ underestimate how much they smell of smoke to (genuine) non smokers. I guess it is because they are so used to the smell but it does linger and a non smoker can pick it up very easily. |

I smoke. I don't give a shit if people I meet smoke or not, but the situation as it is would put me off.
I dont like to deal with liars. So if I saw someone with non smoker flagged having a smoke on a night out I'd write them off. I'm not vegan but if someone tells me they are then eats a steak then I don't want to deal with them either. If someone says they're a straight man or a lesbian but only sucks 10 to 20 dicks a year, same deal. Own who you are and the choices you make.
If the options are smoker and non smoker, and sometimes you smoke, then you're a smoker.
I'm a smoker, I meet people who don't smoke and who have a preference for fellow non smokers. It's not actually going to limit your potential pool by telling the truth. |

If you only smoke down the pub, you are still a smoker regardless of the where, when and how many.
However do you need to tell a potential meet? Unless you have been down the pub prior then yes, be upfront (if the person says in their profile they only meet non smokers) because then your potential meet can make an informed choice.
If however you haven't been down the pub and not touched a cigarette for weeks/months then in my opinion there is no need to tell them (unless you are planning on seeing them regularly and a potential pub/club visit may occur and you are tempted).

It really doesn’t make any difference to most people. I smoke occasionally , if they really like you they will meet you and have sex, even if they say they don’t meet smokers. If you like them and it bothers then you won’t smoke when you’re around them.
If smoking is a hard no, you’re just incompatible and won’t like each other anyway !

I'd happily meet you as a nonsmoker and be happy if you explained your very occasional lighting up, without feeling deceived.
For true purists to be happy, just add a line to the profile, stating you smoke 10 or so times a year and will declare your most recent 1. |

I avoid the posts as much as I can so as not to put my foot in it and cause an endless argument. However seeing as you'd not had many people reply who are smokers thought I'd balance the playing field a little.
I don't drink, I might have 1 glass on my birthday and one for Christmas (literally that's it) but I will not say I'm a drinker.... Regardless of how black and white you make it the whole effort of explaining to someone that I might have 2 glasses a year takes longer to do than saying I don't drink.
I am tired so this may not be making sense but to me you're not a smoker  |

Yes tend to non-smokers calling me a smoker.
Interesting point, that is very small percentage of time spent drinking in a year. People might find it hard to call you a drinker. |

I vape but don’t consider myself a smoker - there’s no option for vaping on here but when I was meeting I’d be honest about it. I think it’s important to be transparent and allow a potential meet to make up there own mind as to whether it be an issue for them, from this thread it’s obvious people see things differently and smoking/vaping is a huge no for some just be upfront x |

To be fair, and I'm not sure how other non-smokers feel, but I think you're ok with vaping as it's mostly the smell and what it clings to that isn't the most pleasant thing. But with vaping you can different flavours like "Unicorn Farts" or something that isn't so bad |

I'm also a non drinker as I've never tasted alcohol.
I'm straight because I've never even had a sexual thought about another man.
How others want to describe themselves has no bearing on me whatsoever unless they are deliberately trying to deceive me. You sound a little boring.

Wow, unnecessary. If being boring means not being hooked up to an oxygen tank for the later part of your life or not having body organs ravaged by the affects of alcohol give me boring anyday. A person saying they have never tasted alcohol.
Unless you are a very religious person or from a different continent, I don't know many people that haven't tasted alcohol.
Leads me to suspect it isn't the truth.
How judgemental....I have never drank either, watching what alcohol abuse does to someone can have an effect like that

I only like to smoke whilst drinking.
I will sometimes smoke a cigarette if I’m drinking with friends and I see them smoking. This could be 10, 20 times per year.
I have also gotten caught up in the heat of the moment and smoked a cigarette after meeting swingers that smoke...
Now I class myself as a non smoker because I never buy cigarettes to smoke when I'm not going out.
I will never smoke alone....
If cigarettes are not around me , I have no cravings...
I don’t smoke everyday and can go weeks, months without smoking.
So am I a smoker?"
If ya smoke ..ya smoke...the level is the only thing..you might be are a heavy smoker ..a light smoker or a now and again Smoker but a smoker non the less. |

I've never tried a cigarette. Never taken an illegal drug or "legal high". I did drink a bit as a youngster now, but nowadays I might have one or two cocktails on holiday, that's one or two cocktails per year. I'm very happy with my life, thank you very much.
If someone thinks that makes me boring, then they couldn't be further from the truth, but it's an excellent filter of them and me being incompatible |

We often get contacted by people asking to meet whose profile says … won’t meet smokers… we explain that we are both smokers as clearly stated on our profile then they say they will meet smokers. Makes us very wary. Same with the profiles that say straight then you see them in chat offering to suck off a guy. Personally I think if you don’t intend to smoke before or during a meet with somebody who won’t meet smokers it’s fine to call yourself a non-smoker |
