"Who's best??
"
Music is a matter of Opinion,it's a people thing, bands don't know if a Multimillionaire has bought their album or a person struggling to make ends meet ..a €10 is a €10..but to answer the question asked if those two bands were playing at the same time in different venues and you could only go to one ..it's G'n'R for me |

"Guns n roses are horribly overrated but axle has the best vocal range of all time. Better the Mariah Carey.
Meh " You got to give GnR that and we'll slash too. |

Slash is so cool , if he didn’t play a single note it would be better than anything Bon Jovi could ever do. |

Axl's vocal range isn't even fit to lace Freddie Mercury's boots |

Slash is, again, one of the most overrated musicians of all time. He’s not fit to lick the boots of the likes of Paul Gilbert. |

Bon Jovi was just a hair band. Way before my time. But I seen GnR last year. Don't waste the absorbent amount for tickets. It's not worth it. He is past his prime. |

G’n’R had grit. Danger. Filth.
Bon Jovi were too ‘nice’."

Ect.. looking at the genre my favorites are GnR motley Rush ( love rush because of neil). Everyone has a taste of something I love dummers Bonham pert and my favorite currently jon Larson from Volbeat. But I have to give GnR props astounding vocals and one of the best guitarist. |

Lol but i am strange in music tastes. If a band can't pull off their hits acoustically are they a preformer or a musician? I hated lady Gaga until I seen monsters ball. |

Always Guns and Roses. I learned every word to every song as a teen, spent hours scribing them, after almost wearing out the tape playing and rewinding, to catch what was sung.
You could be mine is my ultimate favourite song and it also inspired my dabbling into learning how to play the drums |

Depends what era. They both emerged of course in the 80s so both had long, long careers...
Early part of their careers? Jovi were good. Very good. But nothing could touch the 'danger' of early GnR
Mid-point? GnR were all at sea and pretty much washed up with Axl & hired guns (pun intended) not going on stage til after 11pm and such unprofessional antics but Jovi (even when they lost Sambora) were a steady, reliable ship and much better live.
Today? The (partly) reformed 'original' GnR are a stadium rock tour de force. Axl sounding great and they're - in the main - reliable. Jovi though recently have suffered with Jon's voice sadly shot-to-hell |

"Motörhead. The real McCoy.
BJ and GnR are wannabes by comparison. "
I came here to say Motörhead! I was on their guest list at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1986 when I was 15. I had no idea how fucking cool I was hehe. E |

I love Guns and Roses and Appetite for Destruction is one of my favourite albums but I've seen them live several times including one of first times they played in the UK at Donnington Park and to be honest they were terrible ! Don't know whether it was the drugs or alcohol but they've never impressed me. I've seen Bon Jovi a few times and they've always been very very good. |

Yet Mike Patton (Faith No More) has a bigger range than both of them. |

"Bon Jovi.
Nothing imo by G&R beats Wanted Dead or Alive.
Apart from Welcome to the Jungle. Or Sweet Child O' Mine. "
Oh nooooo, welcome to the jungle is good but sweet child... Goodness no. I hated that at the time and it's not aged well imo. |

Neither has Axl.
God he was delicious way back when. Now, just no. |

It's no contest. Guns n Roses all day long. Technically far superior. One of the greatest guitarists off all time and a front man when at peak of his powers was untouchable. One of the greatest rock bands ever. In comparison Bon Jovi are Mickley mouse. |

"Was always more of a GnR fan but still love Bon Jovi.
However, Sweet child of mine is the worst song on one of the best albums ever."
If Sweet child of mine is the worse track on the album just goes to show how epic all the other songs are |

It's the lesser known songs that don't get played on the radio that deserves looking at. For me Coma, Dead horse, Bad apples and back off bitch are mush better than anything I have heard from Bon Jovi. |

Should have put it on use your illusion and had You could be mine on Appetite instead |

Patience, knocking on heavans door, don't cry, nighttrain, paradise city. You could be mine. So yes they do. A lot of others are not radio friendly. |

I’ve no idea who Paul Gilbert is. With a name like that sounds like he should be in Journey or Status Quo, rocking out for Granpa |

GnR for me. Think Bon Jovi went downhill after Keep The Faith. They've done some good tracks, but the earlier albums were far better. If you've not heard it I recommend listening to Richie Sambora's solo album Stranger In This Town.

This thread has inspired my playlist for work tonight though |

Both in the 80s were amazing!
However, I was a massive fan in my youth of both bands. Seen both live over the years and both are now pants and should stop touring. My opinion but neither John or Axl can hit those notes 'These Days' maybe 'The Nighttrain' has left the station for good! |
