I read that he might do that, his son spoke out about it and said how gary liked being on the show and would return one day, but he would never back down on his words he added.
There was also a snap yougov poll which said that 53% of the british public think the bbc was wrong to suspend gary from match of the day following his comments on the governments asylum policy.
Sunak said in a statement that the row surrounding lineker and the bbc is “a matter for them, not the Government”.
The director general said this:
"I would say gary is a superb broadcaster, he is the best in the business, that is not for debate".
What do you think will happen, will he return? I think he will return one day soon, what I find strange is the sudden ending of it, why couldn't they first sit down and talk about it?

I think other tv companies will triple his pay if he works for them instead.

"William Rees-Mogg should present MOTD. Sure, we'd get clueless opinions on the game and crass political comments thrown in. So no change there then."
Can't say I've ever heard political comments on Match of the Day but we'd have a job getting William Rees Mogg presenting it seeing as he died in 2012. |

BT are rumoured to want him next season and offer him upto 4 million. If the BBC don't back down they are going to have another clarkson issue like when him and the other 2 went to Amazon. |

The difference with Clarkson was that he would (or should) have been fired from any job for doing what he did - punching a co-worker in case anyone’s forgotten. |

Compromise
I think Gary needs to read a bit of history though. The new government policy is nothing like how the Germans treated the jews in the 1930s.
But I do defend his right to an opinion. Whether I agree or disagree.
And I hope he's back on MOTD soon |

He didn't say the proposed new policy is like how the Nazis treated Jew's ..
He said it is an immeasurably cruel policy aimed at some if the most vulnerable people and the language is similar to that used in 1930s Germany..
He's factually correct in how this government and in particular this home secretary is and has used divisive, inflammatory and dehumanising language designed to inflame tensions and create fear..
It's pure division and deflection tactics because the mess that is the current immigration and asylum issue is solely down to this government and its cuts and removing the safe and legal application process..

Ian Wright Alan Shearer and the others that went out on an unofficial strike in support of Gary Lineker should be sacked or fined .Any other working person would be sacked .

No one "went out on an unofficial strike" so they can't be sacked. |

Lineker never made any reference to the treatment of Jews though |
