How much does the lifestyle actually cost you?
Hotels, travelling etc it all adds up, with the cost of living going through the roof maybe it's time to cut back and find some cheaper ways of doing things.
Let's share our ideas funny or serious welcome.
Have a lovely day all. |

Like the song says ..." It's not about the money..money .. money"..there are those that want everything but are not prepared to pay anything to the cost and there are those that are with it, understanding, and will pay their way towards costs, individual situations determine everything. |

"Really expensive by the time I factor in hotels, taxis, coaches and club entry.
My weekend in Birmingham and Leeds cost me £300+"
Gosh. That's quite a lot!
So for me - I tend to book hotels in advance or find the best offer (very good at that, humble brag alert). Might buy a new dress or some lingerie but in sales etc.
I don't really do clubs - only been three times. And hotels quite often I share the costs if for socials.
The main expense is the pineapple consumed before. Small fortune there. |

Clubs are a £50 to £75 evening after factoring in drinks and an Uber...compared to £50 for 2 at a restaurant.
We attend pay parties which are £20 to £30 plus a bottle.....compared to the aforesaid restaurant.
Occasional hotel stays.....£50 to £100.
Fuel costs....probably a tank full to travel with a stay over at most.
Not really that expensive unless you want to spend your time sitting at home, not enjoying the television. |

I don’t really do clubs maybe once a year so that cost is minimal however I do attend a lot of socials and not local ones. I’ll book a hotel well in advance and sometimes share a room or an Airbnb. As for the travel I think I have shares in Megabus but occasionally I’ve got some fantastic deals on train fare!
As for meets the people I’m interested in are definitely not local so there’ll always be some sort of outlay but it’s more than worth it |

For me when it comes to swinging costs I keep it simple no overnight stays in a hotel and no driving or trains over a hour. That means I am limited in what I can do but that’s ok OP4F , Rios , London Bridge socials , Central North London socials is all I do. |

I recently noticed it was starting to make a dent even though I'm lucky enough to not get a hotel when going to my local club. But by the time an outfits been bought (if it's a themed night), parking, admission and drinks can get close to £100. With everything else going up and add in a few unforeseen expenses, I've had to trim down and just try to enjoy shit Saturday night telly instead. |

I'm booked on a couple of ironman triathlons this year, even the UK one will cost upwards of £1k, and that's not including the equipment. Barcelona a lot more with travel and accommodation. SCUBA diving costs maybe £2.5k per week for an average trip. Sailing is perhaps my least expensive hobby. I have a timeshare on a boat in the Algarve, maybe £3k per year. Swinging, just fit it in around other hobbies, tbh I've never worked out the costs. |

I don't actually think of the cost as it's something I enjoy. I often pay £100-£150 for a hotel, and £40-£50 for a train, or similar in diesel. Then there's club entrances, dresses, lingerie, drinks. Yes it costs but I work 7 days a week for months on end so I know I deserve to spend on my pleasure time. Work hard, play harder. |

It does cost abit, although that doesn't bother us. We feel more guilty for asking grandparents to look after the kids for us so we can have time away.

When I used to go to clubs it cost a lot. New outfit, travel, hotel, alcohol. It soon adds up thats why it used to make me laugh when guys complain about admission costs for me. Yes it is more expensive for a man to get into a club but women spend a lot on the preparation |

Have you included the costs of cadburys boost or other performance enhancers for your ‘mature’ men who like to nap ? |

I like cycling and camping; when going to a club, I combine the two, cycle to a camp site that's near the club, pitch my tent, then cycle to the club or, of its Gems (Yeovilton), they have a campsite so no cycling back to the campsite at 2/3 in the Morning.
There are costs in loved; campsite, meals, club entry but it's doing the things I love so I'm more than happy to pay the cost. If prices rise, I'll just visit clubs less often but I won't stop completely; what's the point of being alive if you're not living the lifestyle you love?
I do think that with rising cost, employing lessons learnt from when I was a kid growing up in the 70s would help to keep swinging activities in budget; socials at picnic areas, bring your own food and drink. Camp instead of staying in hotels and, we're practicable, share lifts or hire a shara-bang. |

Very rarely stay in a hotel if we go to a club, pleasures isn't near a hotel so can't see the point in forking out for a cab and a hotel when I don't drink and only live 45 mins away, same as abfabs.
Only go to abfabs on a half price night, so we are quite crafty how we go to clubs but we have stopped going out so much as it was getting too expensive, new outfits etc.
Some friends of ours attend clubs most weekends, stay in a hotel all weekend, entrance and travel, I've no idea how they do it but if they have no other outlay, why not. |

We met a couple who wanted a social close to home at a hotel for something to eat. Meal ended up costing us £100 and the social didn’t go anywhere after that . We usually don’t mind but you can understand why people struggle with the cost of swinging. Having said that, vanilla dating is probably as expensive. |

Not very much because it's not a lifestyle, it's a hobby.
Not currently meeting so hotel costs etc are irrelevant.
A couple of socials in the last year where all it cost was the fuel to get there and a few quid for the ticket. No hotels involved. |

Hmm. No. Good point old man. They're essential for when they inevitably have to tap out. |

It was mostly diesel for me when whizzing up and down motorways and at the moment I cant really justify that as it would leave 2 starving waifs at home with no food if all my money went into diesel.
A local person would solve all that but I dont really want local so will stay grounded for now. |

Generally a bloody fortune.
Local
Taxi to club £35
Entry £30
Towel fee £2
Drinks plus tip £60
Taxi home £45
Total £172
Midlands
Fuel £40
Hotel Inc breakfast £80
Club entry £25
Taxis £30
Dinner before club £60
BYOB alcohol £20
Mixers plus tip £20
TOTAL £275
We could do it much cheaper by not having a drink and driving but we prefer to make a big night of it which is why we only head out every couple of months. |

"The MLS social is going to be £250 just for the hotel, but worth it to meet these amazing peeps "
Good point actually I was mainly thinking local because most of my socials are London based but my hotel for Manny will cost a fair bit as well as probably half a day off work, travel and food/drink. And that’s just for a two day social with no entry fees |

I'll assume that the term "swinger" is a colloquial one in this thread because I'm not a swinger in the traditional sense, however: hotels, food and travel certainly add up.
It adds up for me because the term "going Dutch" appears to be a far-fetched concept in my experience. |

You could try a more simple experience if the cost bothers you |

from £60-100 just for the ferry can be higher if you go or want to get back during more busy times. Add petrol, a bottle, hotel and other fees such as entrance fees and membership, its pretty pricey |

It's starting to mount up.
Either hotel (if far from home), or taxis or fuel and parking. Entrance fees and drinks (yes I pay my own way).
Nails, lingerie/outfits.
I've cut down on vanilla nights out, and scene nights out. I've cut down on hotel meets to zero. |

Something that costs you less if she doesn't go dutch |

I will spend roughly £300-£400 when I go to a social.
Fuel
Haircut
Hotel (breakfast extra charge)
Drinks for the room before and after
Snacks for the room
Drinks for me and people I meet.
Also if I’m sharing a room with anyone I’ll bring drinks and snacks for them too.
I could cut back on buying drinks for others when I’m out but I’m a generous idiot |

I'd have thought a thinking man like yourself would have been able to come up with something |
