I'm thinking of going to bed soon

Because I'm ill...again.
Bed is boring though and I'm not feeling up to anything too taxing on the brain.
I can't concentrate on a film and I'm not really a music person.
So, what can I do in bed, that isn't strenuous, until it's late enough to sleep? |

Audible is great, that way you can listen without having to do anything |

Thankfully, this is just a head cold with a strep throat.
The last time I was ill I was coughing my lungs up and throwing up.
A couple of weeks ago I got gastroenteritis and couldn't sleep.
Pissed off with feeling rough.

I have games on my phone I can play. I didn't want to use my arms. I play Solitaire and Mahjong on my laptop.
Actually, I could take my laptop up and play a new game. |

Not hugely, I can listen all day on an iPhone and not need to charge until the evening |

Someone suggested an audio book.
I like a good thriller but the voice would have to be right. |

"Watch/listen to some ASMR "
Some of those sounds grate on me. I used to use one to get babies to sleep and it was an annoying whooshing sound.
Got them to sleep immediately though. I have tinnitus so that might make a difference. |

I love Audible though remember to set timer to switch off or it will go on after you fall asleep. The Clifton chronicles are good if you like Jeffrey Archer.
I watch TikTok’s when I go to bed (when I am well ) I was in bed by 7 last night had a really tiring cough and just tried to sleep.
Hope you feel better soon. |

Thank you. I just had a look on Amazon to buy a book for my Kindle and gave up after a minute of scrolling.

"See if you can get free kindle unlimited. Clifton Chronicles was great. I really enjoyed them
I’ve been reading loads of crime dramas. "
I don't mind buying a book for a couple of pounds, if I think it's going to be a good read or listen.
The voice would grate on me if it has the wrong timbre for my ears.
My tinnitus is terrible this evening. |

The dot in the i |
Set a bubble bath running, light some candles and while that’s setting up go to the kitchen and stick some vanilla ice cream in the blender
Now is the fun part, pick your favourite chocolate or biscuit or combo therein (personally I use Ferraro Rochers and Nutella)
Add you choice to the blender and you created tailored McFlurry
Decant into your favourite cup/glass/tumbler and enjoy in the (hopefully now ready) bubble bath
Works with an audiobook, podcast (I recommend a murder mystery, Bailey Sarian or Mr Ballen are both good) white noise or whatever you fancy in the moment
I recommend repeating nightly as needed |

I can't eat dairy products.
If I could I'd make that shake and add a couple of drops of the Amaretto I have in my cupboard |

"Hot toddy and listen to a podcast/audiobook maybe? Hope you feel better tomorrow
Thank you. I'm going up in a minute to search for an audio book.
I only have Amaretto in my cupboard "
To be fair Amaretto would still be ok warmed up but of honey and hot water |

I might try that with sugar instead of honey.
I'd like some in hot chocolate but I don't have any appropriate milk. |

I've been looking at audible. I might search for the actor and see who reads what.
I'm on YouTube most nights watching Only Connect and Vloggers. |
