I'm thinking of going to bed soon

Jump to: Newest in thread

By *ad Nanna OP   Woman  over a year ago

East London

Because I'm ill...again.

Bed is boring though and I'm not feeling up to anything too taxing on the brain.

I can't concentrate on a film and I'm not really a music person.

So, what can I do in bed, that isn't strenuous, until it's late enough to sleep?

"Read a book? "

I've got one on my phone's Kindle app I'm ¾ way through.

I'm not sure I'm capable of taking all the words in.

I'll try that and see.

Thankfully, this is just a head cold with a strep throat.

The last time I was ill I was coughing my lungs up and throwing up.

A couple of weeks ago I got gastroenteritis and couldn't sleep.

Pissed off with feeling rough.

Actually, I could take my laptop up and play a new game.

Some of those sounds grate on me. I used to use one to get babies to sleep and it was an annoying whooshing sound.

Got them to sleep immediately though. I have tinnitus so that might make a difference.

I love Audible though remember to set timer to switch off or it will go on after you fall asleep. The Clifton chronicles are good if you like Jeffrey Archer.

I watch TikTok’s when I go to bed (when I am well ) I was in bed by 7 last night had a really tiring cough and just tried to sleep.

Hope you feel better soon.

I don't mind buying a book for a couple of pounds, if I think it's going to be a good read or listen.

The voice would grate on me if it has the wrong timbre for my ears.

My tinnitus is terrible this evening.

The dot in the i

Set a bubble bath running, light some candles and while that’s setting up go to the kitchen and stick some vanilla ice cream in the blender

Now is the fun part, pick your favourite chocolate or biscuit or combo therein (personally I use Ferraro Rochers and Nutella)

Add you choice to the blender and you created tailored McFlurry

Decant into your favourite cup/glass/tumbler and enjoy in the (hopefully now ready) bubble bath

Works with an audiobook, podcast (I recommend a murder mystery, Bailey Sarian or Mr Ballen are both good) white noise or whatever you fancy in the moment

I recommend repeating nightly as needed

I might try that with sugar instead of honey.

I'd like some in hot chocolate but I don't have any appropriate milk.
