There is pet. Turn the cover inside out. Get each hand into each top corner of the cover. Grab each top corner of the duvet with your cover covered hands. Flip over the cover. Keep hold of the corners and give it a jolly good shake |

I’m going to give this a go!
Normally I feed the duvet through to the top two corners and secure with beach towel clips then do the same with the bottom two and shake like crazy |

Climb into the empty duvet cover. Then reach out through the slit and pull the duvet inside. Push the duvet corners into the corners of the cover.
Climb out, realise the duvet is twisted or thexwrong way round. Repeat.
Realise its still not right. Shout "fuck you, duvet, I hate you" and have a little cry.
Simple when you know how.

Hmmm, if I wasn’t dog tired after a night shift I’d be turfing all my quilt covers out and checking them
If this is true then how have I got to this age without noticing this?

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I get completely confused by the duvet every time, despite using the method described above... I can just about manage a double but the extra long super king gets me every time. But thanks OP, you've reminded me I have to do that tomorrow... I was trying so hard to not think about it |

You don’t need to do the inside outside process. Just lay the new cover on the bed feed the duvet up to the top corners shake done |

Feeding to the top and a quick shake is quicker than the inside out in my humble opinion

1. Take laundered duvet cover to the bedroom.
2. Clear bed of everything
3. Turn duvet cover inside out and lay flat on matress
4. Realise you've got the open end at the headboard and mumble fucking hellll !
5. Whip duvet cover off mattress and rotate
6. Lay duvet cover flat on mattress making sure it's inside out and the open ends are nearest to you.
7. Look at duvet that you threw on floor five mins ago ... mumble fuck it.
8. Whip duvet cover off bed ! Lash on floor in temper!
9. Pick duvet up off floor and lay flat on mattress.
10. Pick up duvet cover that is still inside out and reach one hand into each corner.
11. Pick up corner of duvet in left hand.
12. Pick up other corner of duvet in right hand.
13. Hold up both corners at the same time and watch duvet cover go along the first few inches of duvet and no further. Mumble jesus fucking christ....
14. Bring hands closer to each other causing duvet to fold and shake like fuck.
15. Realise that 14 will only take duvet cover so far along the duvet.
16. Hold both hands as high as you can and Mexican wave the fucking duvet till exhaustion sets in.
17. In exasperation and never letting go of corners swing duvet away from bed so that the cover can slide down the rest of the duvet.
18. Mumble stuff about duvet covers not being slidy.
19. Realise that duvet is longer than you and the cover will never reach the end just cos you are standing holding it up.
20. Keeping hold of corners sidle like a crab to the landing and suspend duvet over the banister rails. Shake like fuck . Pant like a dying vacuum cleaner.
21. Use all strength to get the heavy duvet back over the bannister.
22. Take duvet to bed and fling on top
23 Refuse to do the end press studs Mumble fuck it .. that's good enough
24 Leave bedroom reminding yourself that you keep saying you are going back to blankets.
25. Drink tea. |

This is why I stand know top if the bed too when I give it a shake... those few inches (or rather foot) make it a whole lot easier |

I’m sure my phone is spying on me. I stripped the bed this morning and even turned the mattress. Next thing you know, this thread appears!
(I use the inside out corner grab and shake method).

Oh Op, it is a pain up the arse! I agree.
Do you have a landing staircase?
Put the duvet part in, hang it over then let gravity do the rest. Lining up the corners first correctly inside. Then all you have to do is line up the 2 top corners & then button up. It's also good for giving it a shake to even it out too.
Simples! |
