"Tragic loss of such young lives.
Has anything been said about what caused the crash?"
It was only days ago and there's an investigation so too early to say.
Tragic and hopefully not caused by drink/drug driving which sadly is a common cause of car accidents in the young.

The aerial pictures of the scene make it obvious excess speed was a factor. They also appear to have failed to even attempt to navigate a bend so driver distraction was probably a factor too.
I suspect, assuming that the driver is one of the dead, their toxicology results will possibly shed further light on the cause.

IF they were d*unk or on drugs and negligent we have zero sympathy. Driving is no joke and you need to respect the rules.
If you play with fire you’re gonna get burnt. |

They were not children. They would have known the risks of getting into that car. |

The media will undoubtedly report on the inquests, though arguably, do the family need to tell us? Is it really of any relevance to thise not directly effected |

If the media have chosen to tell us the story
Then we need the whole story
No? |

It will be months if not years before the full story is known, by then this will be long forgotten |

Let's say there were no drink/drugs involved and the driver was just driving recklessly - would you still say the same?
And are you always aware how much those you're with have had to drink and if they have taken anything?
You're making a lot of assumptions.

Of course they were children, they all had parents.
It would be easy to speculate but what's the point?
It's very sad |

It’s awful, whatever the circumstances of how it happened. One of the families has now lost two daughters (over the space of 8 years) to fatal car crashes.
Thoughts go out to all those involved.

You don't need six exclamation marks to try and get a point across.
I appreciate a reply but it doesn't answer my question. It's not a nice thread.
I feel so sorry for all the parents, relatives, friends, survivors, everyone involved.
One set of parents involved lost their other Daughter 8 years ago in a crash, she was killed by a d*unk driver.

As a parent of a 23 yr old lad, story's like this fill me with utter sadness for the families picking up the pieces after such an event.
My sons at an age where he's starting to exore the UK with his friends, virtually always travelling by car. Until he's back home safe as a parent your always on edge.
If there was drink or substances involved its a very costly mistake, still doesnt take away the loss the families are going through.

Well I've used it to pay my respects rather than speculate but I never intend to derail a thread.
