As a music fan I love a good album cover, the one that stands out the most to me is Unknown Pleasures Joy Division. Simple but cool as fuck in my opinion. Also think Nirvana Nevermind was a classic. Anyone got thoughts their own classic? |

"Fleetwood Mac - Tango in the night
Vibrant colours on a dark background, nights sky.
Guns and Roses - Appetite for destruction
Often found on T shirts and is almost a logo for the band "
Even tho the original "Appetite" was banned replaced with the Cross and skulls image |

"Dark Side Of The Moon is an iconic album cover. Another one that's very simple

I’d agree with that not a pink Floyd fan but like some tracks and a great cover "
50 years old this year, and still one of the most universally recognisable covers ever produced. |

There are 5 members of the Beatles on sgt pepper as Stuart Sutcliffe the original bassist is on there. Also the medals worn by Lennon were medals awarded to Pete Bests grand father, Pete Best being their drummer before Ringo. |

Might have been recognisable when you knew what it was but when I went to buy it I was looking for the all important words 'Dark Side Of The Moon'. Nobody had told me there was nothing at all written on the front or back. Maybe it was in tiny print on the edge of the sleeve but in those days you didn't expect to have to look there. Perhaps they started the need to do so? |

Master of puppets is an incredible album! And the cover art is too! I've got a 3D master of puppets album cover sitting on one of my cd racks. |

Nevermind agreed, even more so, the adult baby being a colossal tool about appearing on it and all his whinging getting him nowhere! |

Abbey Road, and Sgt Pepper by The Beatles
London Calling by The Clash
Thriller by Jackson
Dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd
Nevermind by Nirvana
As someone who loves the 80s, I always liked Rio by Duran Duran |

I’ve scrolled down the list here, and can’t believe it isn’t yet there …..
ELO…. Out Of The Blue!
The docking spaceship … it’s been a part of ELO for decades!
IMHO …. It’s as iconic as the Dark Side of the Moon. … great album too!

Can't believe that no one has mentioned anything by Roger Dean! I loved his designs especially the Osibisa flying elephant covers.
Unfortunately these digital days most covers are very poorly designed for the digital medium they will be seen on such as phones.
I do find it very arrogant, silly and non productive when unknown acts don't bother to put their name on the cover. |

"There was something magical about vinyl album covers that was lost when CD’s became the dominant media.
Country Life by Roxy Music is my favourite, it’s just so sexy
"

LET THERE BE ROCK... simply ICONIC ,it was taken from a photo with the band live on stage and it was also the first time the iconic AC/DC logo was ever used. |

"Abbey Road. Hundreds of people recreate it every day. You can even watch them on live webcam.
I’ve seen it mare to drive down lol"
Absolutely. And as a blue light driver, its a pain the arse. Some tourists on the crossing wont move until they've got their photo, even for vehicles on blue light runs. |

Lots of great album covers….. thin lizzy Chinatown springs to mind, but only one has vet made me by an album never having heard the band before….. saw On a Story Teller’s Night by Magnum in the record store while I was browsing and it took my eye, so bought the album. Saw them live a few times subsequently |

"I have a framed print of the Rainbow Rising cover. My all time favourite.
RJDs vocals are incredible on this...his best work IMHO"
I agree. It's a shame there was never a follow up studio album with that lineup. The live one came out instead which I never rated. |

Yeah sad that he fell out with Maiden in the early 90s....subsequent album covers and Tour shirt artwork is a bit poo |

Those 2 are classics, tango in the night was my first CD - bought it on the cover alone - luckily it turned out to be a good album!
And appetite - I have the LP with the original cover in loft, great album too! |

My favourite is "Vulgar Display of Power" by Pantera. Have a tattoo of it.
And "Who's Next?" By The Who.
