Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that! |

Have you posted this in the wrong place? It has nothing to do with the OPs question. |

Pmsl.
We are looking for a decent option that isn’t too far (ie mainland Europe) or spread over 3-4 days. Suggestions welcome. Rock-bias preferred. Already going to motley Crue/Def Leppard who seem to be playing at every festival this year |

Not all that North of North London |
"Download (UK)
Bloodstock (UK)
2000 trees(UK)
Takedown (UK)
Hellfest (France)
Grass pop (Germany)
KILKIM ŽAIBU(Lithuania)
Wakken (Germany)
There are loads "
Hellfest is an incredible festival, light years ahead of anything in Britain for experience, bands or environment |

That's because it's a the main festival in France and also the 20k capacity smaller than Leeds festival that is already tiny.
The Download festival pilot was amazing but only 10k capacity
Costs are cheaper in mainland Europe even down to the cost to have bands play there as they can do multiple festivals, people are willing to spend more at a smaller festival. |

I highly recommend Wildwood Disco near Cambridge.
Small-ish 3000 people festival over a three day weekend, with a varied selection of musical stages, friendly crowd and surprisingly good camping and other facilities. And it's in a forest, which is awesome.
They also have some pretty spacious yurts if you want to have a larger private space for... stuff. |

"Pre organise meeting people?
There needs to be a patch you can wear on your cut off to notice other swingers "
Damn that's a good idea!
Maybe I'll put an upside down pineapple patch on my battle jacket! |

The upside down pineapple is known by too many people now thanks to tiktok swingers
Maybe a patch that just says "FAB"
Can always say it means something else and act innocent if a friend who doesn't know you swing spots it |

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe |
Just some small local ones for me - my band are playing two of them, I'm providing PA gear doing sound engineering duties at the 3rd one, and am stage MC at the biggest of the festivals. |

"Bearded Theory & Glasto booked for this year so far."
Couldn't do Bearded Theory this year as I'd already committed to Cursus - a bit gutted as it's one of the few times Public Service Broadcasting are playing the UK this year.
I can highly recommend the Fuelled by Cider festies.
InCider has already come and gone but Cursus and OutCider still have tickets available.
Alice's Wicked Tea Party near Corfe Castle is delightfully wierd and Punky- although very small - it's only about £50 though.
Alice's sister festival Rustic Stomp is an absolute hoot too.
If you go to any of these and see someone in a camo kilt and disco ball helmet - come and say hello

The only festivals I have done are small ones where a particular Irish band The Saw Doctors were playing.
They are coming to a local folk one so may be my first festival for a few years |

Been Glastonbury every year for the last 30
Not going this year by choice
It’s so prim and proper now
Waste of money
As for swinging at festivals
You stink after a few days in a field
I go for 7 days
when the new people’s turn up on Friday/Saturday
You can smell there cleanliness from feet away
So you will be lucky lol

Met up with a few other swingers and had a few encounters with people outside the community
But it was to hot to want to do anything at download festival, by the time the night roles around you felt horrible. |

K: It's was crazy there, there was no shortage of offers but the heat just really seals in the flavour even after a shower each morning and after the amount of booze I went through I don't think my dick would have worked. |

Not quite the same as a summer outdoor festival but the Fulford Arms have One for the Road festival in October if you wanted something local to ease her in gently |
