Jif became Cif....i know it's not confectionery but I couldn't remember what M and Ms were called before they became M and Ms....

When I was a kid I liked Mars bars, it took ages to eat one, and at 7d they were good value.

I know they're still around but they're more like chocolate fingers now.

My parents had a village shop in the seventies and some of the names I remember are Merlins brew ice lollies , lolly gobble choc bombs , Callard and Bowser butterscotch , Hacks , Space Dust , a small cube box with sweet letters inside , cannot remember what they were called , oak leaf chewing gum , imps , cool mints , ipsos , they were sweets in a type of Lego box .

Every thing was on glass jars and you could buy a quarter or two ounces .
