What's everyone's opinion on hidden profiles? Obviously we all have our own reasons, but do you chat to people with them? And do you also think that if they've hidden their profile should they be allowed to view yours? |

I hide mine a lot, usually when I’m overwhelmed by fab or life is too much. I don’t message anyone unless we’ve already been in a conversation and going well.
I won’t respond to a message from a hidden profile, I’d like some hint of who I’m talking to |

I don't respond to hidden profiles.
I understand why people feel the need to hide every now and again but it should come with restrictions.
Hiding while still messaging and posting on forums is like wearing camoflage and a hi vis at the same time. |

The only people I would chat to with a hidden profile would be someone I was already chatting to. Anyone who sends a first message with a hidden profile it just gets deleted usually unread.
I understand why people sometimes hide their profiles on here I've done it myself at times but then I would never message and would rarely post on the forums when I have hidden mine. |

Is it though? Because there are plenty of forum users who simply enjoy an exchange of views and a bit of light-hearted entertainment.
And plenty of profiles are not hidden but have no information or photos, which is essentially the same thing.
In lots of other forums on websites other than this one users do not have public profiles as such at all.
If you want to respond to a particular poster you still can do so, either publicly or privately. And as a means of offering support or advice, I think that’s a good thing. |

I don't offer support or advice. I only concern myself with my own profile. As I said already, I understand fully why people feel the need to hide, I just don't feel the need to engage with them if I haven't already.
I don't engage with blank profiles either. |

Mine is hidden purely because, despite it stating very clearly that I'm not meeting or interested in chatting, I was still getting quite a few messages, usually trying to convince me to meet them. Even with tightened filters. Hiding my profile stops the vast majority of that as I no longer appear in searches. |

I have no issue with Hidden profiles, some people just want to take a break some time and that is fair enough. I do however, have an issue with Hidden profiles still being able to view and go on cams.
Taking that further, I would also like to see those without pics not being able to view those with pics or maybe those who are not paid members cannot view paid members. Anything to stop the constant flow of time wasters! |
