They lose interest usually or something has been said that they didn't like,or the other person is being pushy and can't take no for an answer.
There's lots of reasons why it happens I know some of the above are why I stop chatting . |

All these comments but if you were talking to someone in really life you wouldn't just walk off without saying something . I think it is just rude to stop . Yes we all have the right ti choose but manners cost nothing . |

Also bear in mind that the person could well be having numerous conversations and might decide to narrow down to the one(s)they want to continue with. Just a case of moving on. Good luck  |

I can only speak for me and my reasons ,
Either it feels like pulling teeth and too hard work or they've said something too creepy/pushy and it's put me off.
Alternatively life may have taken over and I've not been on as much as before. |

I have found lately, that men are getting very grumpy and abusive if I don't reply fast enough...I am very busy atm with life stuff.

Maybe the conversation ran out of steam
There can be so many reasons.
Something might come up in their home or work life that interuppts them.
You have to remember that messages should be treated a similar way to a letter or an e-mail and not a live-chat such as a phone call. |

Because people aren’t here to have a long conversation unless it’s going somewhere. How do you know they’ve stopped? Maybe they had somewhere to be, like work or an appointment? If they haven’t stopped you from re contacting them, maybe they haven’t stopped. Give them time to get back to you. |

Sometimes I just totally run out of steam on a message run and there seems nothing more to say at that point. Doesnt mean I wont pick back up later/days/weeks on. Things can just naturally end. |

I wouldn't just stop messaging, I would usually give a reason. And they all have already been mentioned above, like life happened; don't feel like it's going anywhere/you're just breadcrumbing me and I've got enough; you showed your true colours/said something that raised alarm bells etc. |

Well, some of us have a busy life and are not glued to our phones/laptops waiting to reply. Or like me (Mrs R) they work really weird shifts and are just too knackered to to get into long conversations.
Also, maybe they just decided that you weren't for them, we all change our minds. |

What is long conversing? I wouldn't be too upset if it was a few weeks. It's not that deep, just getting to know each other and probably discovered you weren't for them. If it was consistent messaging for months, years, then yes that shite is painful. You lose a friend, and without any explanation you must feel like poop. It's a horrible thing to do.  |

Most people are not mutually compatible with most other people.

People may also get changes to their circumstances, which means nothing is going any further.
Whether it's message no 1 or 101, no response means no thanks.
