Not any old daffodil but bunches of Marks and Spencer daffodils for sale under the sign saying 'seasonal vegetables' Now they may look a bit like spring onions before they flower but there were 27 reports of daffodil poisoning last year and apparently it leads to excruciating pain. Marks simply got it wrong and it's all over the news. But what have you mistakenly eaten thinking it was something else

Well they don’t have any veggies so they’ve put the space to some good use.

They’re aren’t just daffodils…..

When I was a young man living at home with my mum, dad and dog, the poor dog had to have an operation.

To make him feel better my mum made him a pedigree chum pie and left it in the oven.

When I came home, starving as usual, looked in the oven saw this lovely pie and tucked in.

Delicious, she never told me for years later.

Don't believe me, get yourself a tin of chum.

If you eat a daffodil believing it’s a spring vegetable then you deserve the stomach cramps. Thank you M and S for doing your part to cull the morons and making the world a better place for the rest of us.

I was hospitalised February last year due to daffodil poisoning.

It’s the world we all in Tom. Unless you explicitly state that xx may cause death and/or injury or some other negative experience, then you run the risk of being chastised.

“Don’t eat daffodils” (what kind of a world do we live in where you have to write that)?
