I get so many ‘I can’t use fab outside my house’ - is this due to parental controls set by their provider or just b.s.?

A lot of networks have age restricted bars and you have to ring them to have them removed. I've had to do it 6 times in 2 years with Vodafone because they keep getting reapplied automatically.

You could always use a VPN app to bypass these restrictions too.

That won't work with your networks age restrictions

And a lot of people aren’t phone-savvy enough to know you need to remove those age restrictions.

Whenever I cross the Irish border or am close to it and roam onto Vodafone.ie there is no issue but as soon as I cross back again the bars are reapplied despite not showing on my account.

I can only use mine on Wi-Fi

I finally plucked up the courage to go into a shop last year to and utter the words 'i want to remove the adult content block' and he said sure, let me see photo id with your age on it

I'm over 50 ffs... He said they have to record the 'evidence' so i have to go back with ny driving licence

Just ask your phone provider to allow over 18 content. Simple.

Just ring your provider, they do it over the phone, done it loads of times.

How do i prove I'm over 18? I don't have a credit card which seems to be the 'virtual' proof

I'm on VOXI, which is a constituent of Vodafone, and it's always worked for me. 'Never had any issues.

Correct.

I don’t have a credit card either or any photo id , I quite literally just ring them and ask to have the content bar removed and they do it.

I use the browser, Opera mini, to bypass that.

It was advised by someone on the forum, some time back, and works well for me.

I have asked Vodafone to remove the age restrictions multiple times but they keep being put back on again.

I don't have any credit cards and am sick to death of having to go down to the shop with my I.D to get it removed.

It has literally got to the point where I don't sugarcoat it anymore and when they ask why I'll say "because I want to watch porn?!".

Sometimes I think they just turn it on for fun.

Then you should know it wont. It makes your IP appear to be elsewhere. It has no effect on the device's network settings.

It would work if fab wasn't allowed in the country where you were.

For many years I didnt have a personal mobile, only one issued by my company. I wouldnt use that to access Fab so I couldn't use Fab away from my computer.

Never really caused a problem as I wouldnt even bother leaving the house unless whom I was visiting had given me their address first.

Aranging to meet whereby you drive to a post code area then they will send you their address when your there are not something I entertain now. Been stung by that before.

I just did mine through my account online, didn't have to prove anything. I'm the account holder and pay the bill. Just ticked a box.
