.. how frequently do you wash a pair of jeans, Fabsters? Assuming you wear them at all.

You can probably get a quite a few days wear out of them, can’t you?

Or maybe not!?

Maybe that’s just disgusting and you wash them after every use?!?

C’mon let’s hear all about your Jean washing habits .. I’m curious to know!

That depends where I went when I wore them.

If I got on buses I'll wash them straight after.

If I babysat in them they'll probably be covered in mashed potato or Wotsit dust, so they get washed straight after.

If I popped up the local shop I'll change into pyjamas or leggings as soon as I get in and wear them again.

If you're not sure, do the sniff test

I'm old enough to remember sitting in the bath in jeans, shrinking to fit!

And also washing them daily to get the right fade

These days usually weekly

I have dedicated work clothes for daytime so only wear my jeans once I'm home & changed. 4 hours max per night if that. Therefore a week of evenings equals only 2 full daytimes. That's not dirty or disgusting.

Well, I wash my selvedge denim as little as possible. My two current pairs have had two washes each after about 18 months. Tepid water in the bath, woolite dark.

"I wear 'em for a month and wash 'em whether needed or not "

Joking aside, that •is• in fact the recommended cycle to follow. Jeans aren't meant to be washed as frequently, unless they are soiled or dirty.

I’ve been doing it properly then .

I dunno.

I leave them in a pile on the bedroom floor and they appear in my wardrobe the next day smelling fresh.

I’m like jack and his magic jeans.

After 5 days wear I’d say.

Then I wear them down the laundrette and pretend to be Nick Kamen in the Levi’s advert before I’m forcibly removed for indecent exposure…

You wear jeans at home to chill in?? Not comfy house trousers?

If you wash them after every use they may lose thier colour after a few washes, wear them a few times or if they are dirty

Depends if they are ‘every day’ jeans (weekly) or ‘going out’ jeans (when they smell or spillages can’t be hidden, and then washed inside out)

I’m really careful and spot clean if I spill something small on them & in summer use Day2 spray. Maybe every 4-5 weeks or when they look dirty or smell. They cost far too much to wear out in a washing machine

I have over 60 pairs of jeans , mainly designer , rarely put them in a full wash , spot clean if necessary, if I am going to get dirty I wear , cheap denim !!

Five-O-ones or whether the female equivalent is with button flies. Undo the belt and pull, everything comes undone in a flash. Saves seconds when they count.

I haven't worn jeans since I was 20. This thread is fascinating nonetheless, in the same that I might pore over the exact instructions about how to use the tribal feathers in a ritual dance, or how to deploy KERS in an F1 car.

Forumites will never not be interesting.
