is this word used too much these days?
dont get me wrong i know there are genuine cases of discrimination that happen in life and that is wrong.
but partcularly on here you see a lot of 'why do people discriminate against bi/hairy/fat/thin/blonde/black/asian/small cock/big cock/etc etc'
is having preferences in the people you meet discrminating....what would happen i you took it to court  |

Personally, in order to prove discrimination (in a swinging context) the burden of proof is on the part of accuser.

being discriminating isn't a bad thing in itself but the word has come to have bad connotations.
If you discriminate for or against someone for the wrong reason or in the wrong circumstances then it's bad however if you use your discrimination wisely to out the bad people regardless of their gender, religion, etc etc then I think it's a good thing.
Personal preference is different to discrimination and the two shouldn't be confused in my opinion. |

I think its used way to much, not just here but in everyday life. I think its also often used as a scare tactic in some situations. The word can cause mountains out of molehills |

I know what I like and dislike.
Those who easily cry "discrimination" for whatever reason(s) are not the ones I would consider meeting in the first place, so it is no skin off my little nose!

Discriminating is something we all do, everyday. Go into a supermarket to buy some fruit, and you have a choice of apples or bananas. You can only choose one. So you 'discriminate' against the one you don't choose. You choose to buy apples. Do the bananas then kick up a stink about being discriminated against? Course not.
What humans kick up a stink about is the feelings of rejection which come from being discriminated against (for whatever reason) - ie. someone chooses someone else in preference to them.
Keep saying on here that it's all about handling rejection...

Discrimination as a word gets used far too much these days.
We do not discriminate on here we use choices to get what we want and nothing else.
Discriminate is a new word that gets used wayyyyyy out of context alot of the time. Did we choose many years ago when in a pub looking for a mate for the night or even something longer or did we go round discriminating all the ugly people, all the people that did not take our fancy?? I do not think so we just chose.
Its about choice and people need to stop using this word discriminate as its not right and its not what we do.

Here we go again - human rights and the whole discrimination issue - discrimination is the right of each and every one of us in a sexual context as it is in the animal kingdom .

All analogies aside, the whole issue of discrimination (in general) is nonsense!
The concept that an "entitlement" has been taken away from one party A [of one or more persons] by another party B [of one or more other persons] suggests said "entitlement" is equivalent to god-given right.
Example: A gay guy feels "discriminated" against when I tell him? That's suggesting he is "entitled" to a shag with me. Doesn't wash.
On the other hand: A "site social" (by definition being a social organised/arranged for members of a site, in order to meet other members of said site) excluding one or more group members of that site (lets say for example, single males) IS discrimination (where it has not cited reasons for excluding specific parties [one or more persons] on a case by case basis.
That's how it looks in my mind. |
