Tetanus, Hepatitis A, Yellow fever, malaria tablets.
Many travel vaccinations are free on NHS, but some are not. I had to pay for things like Jap B encephalitis when I went wandering through SE Asia, also purchase the malaria tablets |

Spend three days and nights in:
Bangkok – the capital with lots of cultural sites
Pattaya – a tourist seaside resort on the Andaman Sea coast
Chiang Mai – cool off in the northern hills and visit more cultural sites
Phuket – a very popular tourist island off the Andaman Sea coast
Koh Tao – a quieter island on the other side, off the Gulf Of Thailand coast.
This itinerary will help you to make up your mind about where to stay for the rest of your holiday (and subsequent ones!).
There’s no need to book anything in advance because the tourist high season is over.
I’ve never been fishing in Thailand, but I have written a newbies’ guide to the Bangkok red light district which will help you to hit the ground running. I’ll send you a copy if you unblock messages from single men, or let me know your email address.

Go to Chiangmai & Chiang Rai. Get a bus from Ekami station in Bangkok and about 30 mins before Chiang Mai make it stop, cross the carriageway and head up into the hills to the Lahu Hilltribes, you will never want to leave.
Than Sadet on the island of Ko Pha-ngan is also good
The rest is now pretty much ruined by tourism unfortunately |

Get your injections but i wouldn't bother with Malaria tablets
I've been 7 times since 1999 and Phuket is the best for me.....stay anywhere in the Patong Beach area
I've always gone for 21 nights each time |

"Profile says you smoke, don't know if this is cigs or vapes. If the latter bear in mind they are banned in Thailand. "
SMOKING
Bangkok’s “no smoking” zones are:
1. Bangkok Bus Terminal in Chatuchak – except in designated smoking areas
2. Don Mueang airport – except in designated smoking areas
3. Silom Road in Bang Rak district - prohibited within a 3-metre-radius of bus stops
4. Victory Monument - prohibited within a 3-metre-radius of bus stops
5. Floating Market at Taling Chan – totally smoke-free
6. Chatuchak Market 2 in Min Buri district – totally smoke-free
The maximum fine is B5,000 for each violation.
Throwing a cigarette-end on the ground anywhere in Bangkok is classed as “littering”. If the police catch you, they will attempt to fine you all sorts of money. I’ve been caught a couple of times on Sukhumvit, and paid them all of the money I had in my pocket – less than B500. They didn’t search me, and so were unaware of the B2,000 down my socks! Don’t ask for a receipt! There are no litter bins - use one of the six large holes in the occasional pre-cast concrete pavement slab.
Smoking and eating cannabis (“ganja”) - marijuana and hemp – is legal, but not in public.
E-cigs. and vaporizers are illegal, and this law IS enforced!

I also wouldn’t take malaria tabs , I’d rather take my chances with Malaria. I get malaria type 2 1-2 times a year and it’s not as bad as the tablets, I think most countries apart from Europe banned Valarium, so definitely avoid that one of you are taking it |

Throwing a cigarette on the floor is against the law in most countries, why its still allowed in the uk is beyond belief. In Dubai no one would ever do that , you would be looked at like some kind of wild animal |

"Dont use tuk tuks ,fun but scary, jump in the numerous pick up taxis ,cheap n quick"
TRANSPORT
Shank’s Pony: Avoid in the afternoon. Watch your feet – the pavements aren’t necessarily flat. Move from shade patch to shade patch. If you feel unwell, drink lots of water, swallow a pinch of salt, have a long cool shower or bath, and the rest until you feel better.
Busses: Cheap, but slow. Rides in the air-conditioned ones cost about twice as much as in the open window ones. You need to know routes, timetables, and speeds during rush hours, so they’re pretty much useless for farangs.
Trains: There are two independent systems: The Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) – a sort of underground - has 53 stations: The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) – the “Skytrain” – has 61 stations. Quick and reasonably priced, but all of the carriages will be full during morning and evening rush hours. At Asoke and Nana, the up-escalators are on odd-side, low end. Down is steps to everywhere.
Motorbike Taxis: Fastest, cheaper than taxis, but very dangerous. Make sure he puts your helmet on properly. Spread your legs wide when he’s running free, clamp them to his when he’s manoeuvring in traffic. Ladies ride side-saddle!
Tuk-Tuk: Three-wheeled motor bike taxis - Not recommended for those of a nervous disposition. Hugely over-priced - no Thai person would be stupid enough to use one.
Taxis: Rip-off Thais, so Farangs have no chance! Their meters usually don’t work. Five successive cabs refused to take my Thai GF across town to her sister’s place.
Hotel limousines: Expensive, comfortable and no problems.
Car hire: there are no road signs in English, but you could probably access a satnav ap.

Except, of course, the whole of:
South America
Africa
India
China
South East Asia except a few tourist areas in Thailand
There are no litter bins in the Bangkok red light district. The whole of Sukhumvit odd side from Soi 3 to Soi 23 is a rubbish dump after 2am, with rats as big as cats. But it’s all cleared away by dawn.
The litter laws are enforced in some tourist areas of Bangkok as a nice little earner for the local police.

Some people have natural malaria immunity.
Take the pills if you are going to Thailand during the wet season.
The cost is small, and the penalty can be severe: fever, possibly recurring, and for some unfortunates, death.

What is the source of this information?
The Thai Parliament was prorogued on 28th February, and will not sit again until after a general election on or after 7th May.
On 28 January, a police senior sergeant major in Pattaya demanded B60,000 (£1,500) from a foreign tourist for the possession of an e-cigarette.
