breathe in deep, neck as much tap water as you can (I tend to aim for 2 pints) before you absolutely have to breathe out, then drink some bore before you let yourself breathe in. Works every time. |

Hiccups are all to do with air trapped in the diaphragm and you have to clear it.
Take a deep breath and then purse your lips and exhale slowly until there is no air left in your lungs at all.
Hey presto, you're cured son!
(if you hiccup during the process simply take another breath and start again). |

What nonsense! Air can't possibly get trapped in your diaphragm! Hiccups are caused by the diaphragm involuntary going into spasm and the noise is caused by the opening between your vocal chords closing suddenly.
