Somewhere In The Ether…

The 1990 remake of, Night Of The Living Dead.

It was a very good reimagining of Romero’s classic, directed by long time Romero collaborator and special fx wizard, Tom Savini.

The always superb Tony (Candy Man) Todd played the role of Ben and far from going catatonic in fear, Susan in this version, kicked arse like a pro

Somewhere In The Ether…

3:10 To Yuma; Russell Crowe and Christian Bale Star in this superb western remake.

And probably the greatest horror remake of them all: John Carpenter’s, The Thing

"The Grudge"

Good call! I actually watched the remake first before going back and viewing the original Japanese films.

The Ring remake was also very good I thought

The A Team.

Liam Neeson as Hannibal was an absolute gem.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Cape Fear - another brilliant remake which benefits from a particularly chilling performance by the ever superb Robert De Niro in the role originally played by Robert Mitchum

Somewhere In The Ether…

The Evil Dead.

If you can get past the fact that Ash Williams isn’t in this (sacrilege!!!) apart from Bruce Campbell’s tiny cameo right at the very end, then there is actually much to enjoy here. It’s also delightfully icky

The Wolf Man. A sumptuous retelling of the 1941 Universal classic.

Inavasion of the Body Snatchers 1978 remake, I love that film even though the original 1956 version is more faithful to the book, I still think the 1978 remake is the best.

A great call indeed! I originally watched it at a young age and had absolute nightmares after beholding the scene with the dog with the human face…..

.

Dredd. It's a bit gory. But such an enjoyable watch, gritty and moving in parts. And beautiful cinematography, esp with the slowed down moments.

I absolutely love The Thing as well. It's one of my favourite films of all time.

A Star Is Born.

Both remakes of the Judy Garland original are very good.

Somewhere In The Ether…

The Wicker Man……

I’m taking the piss of course as it’s pretty blooming terrible, BUT….Nicolas Cage’s demented OTT performance is certainly worth a watch for a chuckle.

‘Not the bees!!!!!!’

100% Dredd was way better than Stallones Judge Dredd. Though that film did get the ABC Warrior and Mean Angel spot on.

And it's happy 46th birthday to Judge Dredd (comic strip) this coming Sunday (March 5th). First appeared in Prog 2 of 2000AD in 1977.
