It is important that you dont skip meals.

From the land of haribos.

Here is another diet tips that I have and so many people do this, do not skip meals in an effort to eat a big massive meal later in the day, far too often people practicing intermittent fasting and saving their calories for at night.

The problem is when you do this, ghrelin, the hunger hormone it keeps going up, eventually when you do eat, you are starving, you cant put the fork down, better to start your day eating breakfast and not saving your calories for at night, because if you do that, it often leads to binging and before you know it, your diet is over.

When you are dieting, do you skip meals? I dont skip meals and I always try to eat regularly within my calorie limit. I usually split it up into 3 meals and with a snack in the afternoon

Balanced diet works for us...if clothes feel snug then run that bit faster or further

Don't assume that I. F. means avoiding meals.

It's not one meal a day.

I don't binge.

I don't get hungry during the fasting hours when I'm in an established routine.

I eat normal portions and healthy options.

I simply space the 3 meals evenly within a shorter window of time.

"I just eat when I'm hungry, don't diet and don't worry about cals"

This is important I think.

Eating because the clock says it's lunchtime regardless of whether you are in fact hungry is a massive part of eating issues I believe.

Yes, that is a good way to gauge if it is working, a balanced diet is the key

I'd do this but I almost never feel hungry. Usually I eat because someone asks me when I last ate and then shouts at me for it being days.

We don't diet, we do sometimes skip meals. Are we doing it wrong?

We don't diet and realise that exercise alone doe snot work for us. We changed our approach to food, time restricted eating and smaller portions within a 10am - 7pm window and remove carbs and low fat from the menu and ensure we balance the menu well.

Works well for us, we know what we need to do in order to maintain a stable weight now, and nothing is off limits, just balanced correctly and we get the good food (fry ups etc.) as opposed to tasteless stuff!

I IF but more by habit than design.

Id argue that more ppl are ruled by habit and psychology than hunger.

In thee example the over eat does so because of the "reward" of having their cheat meal. Or because they eat so quick.

If it is hormones, I wonder if it's because people have got out of balance. We aren't used to being slightly hungry.

Luckily I'm not overweight and don't need to diet but I often miss out on an evening meal for two reasons. Working late so don't want to eat late at night, or I've arranged a meeting and I know my throat is going to take a pounding.

Here, There and Everywhere

I never eat breakfast, usually a large coffee is all I'll have. I eat when I'm hungry, not according to the clock. Sometimes I'll only have one meal a day because I've not had an appetite. I can't diet as I hate denying myself anything!

My problem is when I'm hyperfocused in my work and can't break off to go eat so can easily get to about 2 pm before eating a thing. I probably only have two meals that day but definitely the level of hunger experienced at the point I actually stop working and 'notice' is crazy.

Being ND this is something I struggle to avoid consistently.

Exactly, I think your body will tell you when you need food. There is no point eating just because you can.

I find, the less often I eat, the less often I want to. Hunger stops fairly quickly when not eating
