I'm about to make some, but can't decide whether to whack something other than just butter on it?

Any suggestions? What's you 'go to' topping for slightly burnt bread?

A

Let it go cold, then spread butter on and dip it into a cuppa soup. Delicious!

Hot toast with good butter and some Maldon salt.

Or with butter and honey. The better the honey the better the breakfast.

If I was I would have said PB and jelly! It's just a flavour combo that is hard to beat!

I bought crumpet loaf on a mini road trip yesterday. I'm going to enjoy it with good butter, a bit of cheese. Perfect.

Normal toast I love the morello cherry jam in a glass jar with the red and white lid. So good.

I like Nigella’s method. Butter the fresh, hot toast. Let the butter melt in a bit. Then butter it again, for pools of hot, thick creamy butter layered on top. Eat quickly before that second lot soaks in.

Worthing

Leave cheese and butter out of fridge for about 1/2 hour. Toast bread in toaster (I don't grill now to save time and money). Butter both slices on one side. Add cheese and smear with tomato sauce+pepper) put both slices together. Yum!
