If you add water, does this expand back into being tomatoes?"
No, but I'll be fucked if I buy fresh food in bulk, that's ridiculous |

Just about to start planting seeds for this year's crop, still plenty of homemade sauce in the freezers..
'Seasonal veg' was how we lived as kids, now the shops are full of produce flown in from all over the planet.. |

There will be plenty of tomato plants in the garden centres though. Time for everyone to grow their own I think |

Talking of snow... Apparantly that's freely available with no limits on most high streets... If you put water on it it turns into cola |

"Tomatoes have been difficult to get hold of round here for weeks.
It's like 1947 in our shops
Early closing on weds? "
If only. I'm an old fashioned woman and yearn for early closing day, wooden floorboards on shop floors and the awning down in summer. At the same time I want 24 hour access to milk and bread |

Local growers will have a crop soon enough. Just hope they don't decide to export them else where |

Turn the eventual mush into some sort of new age smoothie that cures everything from cold sores to cancer, and boosts natural immunity

"I grow my own tomatoes so am not that bothered about buying them out of season, pretty tasteless. I still have a couple of bags of my own in the freezer for sauces.
I have just got my tomato seeds to start this year’s crop
I am going to grow half in my greenhouse and half outdoors this year.
I am also creating a raised vegetable bed. It’s going to make more and more sense to grow your own
Just as well I love gardening
And sex "
You'll be needing lots of seeds then |

We should all go back to the pre war days. Seasonal produce only.
Bananas were rare, tomatoes and strawberries only in the summer, sprouts in the winter etc.
It would make us far more appreciative and forward looking.
Be good for the planet too.
Apples flown in from New Zealand??!!!.....wtf. |

"It’s not really a big deal missing out on a few tomatoes for a few weeks.
"
You might think so... But apparently its a catastrophe and headline news for some folks. Which is odd given we are a nation of salad dodging beige food eaters any other day of the week. |

With electricity prices being so high it will be quite expensive to grow your own spring and summer veg in winter.
Wait a few weeks for the growing season to start again and it will be a distant memory.
