I stand up for what I believe. No matter who it is. It's just my opinion, not saying I am right or wrong.
I make a point of listening to- and considering- both sides of arguments. Sometimes I change my mind after considering a debate. Sometimes I feel the same way or more strongly than before. If I think I'm wrong I will happily admit it.
I will often stand up for people that I don't like, if I believe they are right on that occasion.
I will also stand up for the right of other people's beliefs- even if it is the opposite of my own beliefs.
I don't say what I think people want to hear. I'm not a sheep. Or an arse licker......
Does that make me a bad person? |

It gets me into trouble all the time. Especially at work when everyone is bowing down to the bosses and I disagree with them. |

Oo I think I bow down and agree with everyone on here just to keep the peace
I have always voiced my own opinions and I am not swayed by the majority and I'm not afraid to challenge. I hope I do so in an assertive rather than aggressive way but sometimes I don't get it right.
I'm also not afraid to apologise if I've upset someone or if I've got it wrong. I can't abide those who say things and then pretend they meant something else when questioned.

We have more than a few at work and not only would they lick bosses arses but if they were told to go in and clean the toilet bowls with the tongue it would be done without question.
Before meetings with management 1 guy would say to me they should be told this and that as he didn't have the balls to say it himself and he knew I always said what I thought should be said.
One day he was going on about what should be said and when the meeting came I said ***** came up with a lot of good points there and as I went through everything he had said his face was a picture he just looked as if he wanted to curl up and die. |

Also a lot of posts here are twisted by some who try and say the OP meant something entirely different from what they did mean and of course you then get loads jumping on the bandwagon and tearing the OP to pieces it happens all the time. |

Never an arse licker in my entire life.
Too much an independent thinker and believer, and a rebel for my own good.
My dream job as a government agent eludes me as I am unlikely to toe the line and be a good obeying civil servant.
Not one to climb high up on the corporate ladder due to lack of diplomacy.
So I shall be a lowly pleb and a pain in the neck for my bosses instead, and I love every moment of it!

"Okay who's going to be the first to admit they are not an independent thinker and go against the trend? "
I will. In my teens to my early 30's, I'd always follow the grain and take what was given to me. I'm a slightly different character now. Independence however can only go as far as what we can control. |

"I speak my mind but if it's something that will hurt someone I keep silent. So I'm not sure if that makes me tactful ... Or two faced...
"
Well if you are not sure, don't expect anyone else to know. |
