Randomly watching goggle box and remembered family Skype call during covid lock down... It was great, so funny and made you realise who was important and who you missed and made family time great again.
I appreciate this thread isn't for everyone and I know a lot of people lost people through covid but this is just meant as light hearted fun about what people actually enjoyed about lock down... No offence meant and no negatives please |

Sophie Ellis Bextor's kitchen disco on a Friday, and the national ballet putting out videos of some great performances on Facebook for free.
I was lonely and scared and stressed, so these little things were wonderful moments of escape for me. |

"Lovely clear country lanes without the all the knobhead groccles , who can’t reverse or pull in , for fear of scratching their cars. Made my job a whole lot easier and less stressful. "
Ooh this reminds me.
Walking out to the end of my garden and for the first time in my life not hearing the distant thrum of vehicles... the silence was beautiful. |

Not being deemed eligible for meaningful financial support. Oh, wait, yeh I definitely do not miss this.
I miss the lockdown cat I adopted and midnight walks by the sea. |

"The way all the local restaurants turned into cool little delis selling fresh stuff out of a side window."
This
I think some things will stick around.
I also liked how quiet it was and the half price food with eat out to help out. |

Miss being with my best friend during Covid as we were in a bubble! Even though he was battling cancer at the time. We have to cherish every moment! Because we just never know when it's our time, Time is so precious really. |

My delusion that enough people would take it seriously and the covid transmission chain could be broken. My delusion that there was such a thing as "society" and that "society" would make sure that everyone was okay. |

Anyone find that every Thursday when you went out to clap, everyone said hello to neighbours and people across street etc.... Restrictions lapsed and now your lucky if you get an acknowledgement off them |

"Being the only one on the train and tube going to and from work "
This, and being one of the limited few going through airport security... I miss the ease of strolling through passport control with no queues!!! |

Not having to be anywhere.
Long dog walks and seeing nobody.
Knowing nobody was going to come unexpectedly visiting.
Discovering I liked watching TV for the first time and how relaxed that made me.
Afternoon naps.
The time and energy to cook proper meals in the evening.
Lovely clean and tidy house and garden because I had time to do it.
Not having to pay £100s out each month for doggy daycare
Finding new hobbies.
For me it was an indulgent, relaxing, stress free time to myself, and I loved it. |

"Hated that I was out working harder than normal, while others sat at home and got paid, did there houses up, while I was barely in mine, "
That's me but add begging management to let me work in a different department even part of the time to minimize the risk to taking it home to my high risk parent so they wouldn't die of it then being placed at the door with the most contact and hand out masks. |

The unfortunately temporary respect for other people's personal space. Shame about all the people who don't know what two metres looks like. I'm forced to assume it was all the same five-inch guys who claim to be VWE, and the women who believe them. |

The temporary suspension of the pants-on-fire whopper that office jobs have to be done in an office and CAN'T POSSIBLY be done from your front room.
The landbastard class especially hated this one. "Who cares if you get permanently disabled by an airborne vascular infection? oUr rEnTaL iNcOmE!" |

"The 2 meter rule, I miss queuing without someone stood up my arse. I like my personal space.
Mrs "
Still do this. I came to like space between queuers, trouble is now, if you leave a respectful space, someone steps into it thinking you are not in the queue. Happened again in a shop a few days ago, had to point out to the person that there was in fact a queue and would they mind joining it , behind me. |

Almost this, although we did our harder than normal work from home, so our entire lives consisted of sitting in our living room, morning, noon and night. I worked 12+ hour days throughout much of the lockdowns. |

Speaking to the family more often, even if it was on whatsapp.
Holding a quiz once a week for our friends and family.
Not having someone right next to you in the queue at shops.
The roads being a less busier. |

Surrounded by idiots going crazy buying all the toilet roll
It didn't give you the shits
Being a supermarket worker you were seen as amazing being ehre working through it all, now you're looked at as being something on the bottom of someone's shoe
Total respect has gone
The roads were quiet, was bliss going to work |

I kinda miss the teaching across all the timezones from -5 to +9. Although it was incredibly stressful and nigh on impossible, it was amazing to be "in" the houses of our students across the world and to see what was out of their window and where they lived. I enjoyed sharing gardening tips with them too |

NORWAY Wherever I lay my hat |
Quiet cycle lanes when commuting to work
Not having to see the cockwombles at work in person
Those long afternoons/evenings spent in that gorgeous weather we had. Just lying on my balcony with my Kindle and cocktails - chilling in the sun without feeling like a lush or wracked with FOMO as I couldn't do anything else |

Strangers smiling back at me when I was out on my mandatory 1 hour's exercise outdoors.
Feeling a daft flood of warmth when someone stepped away to maintain social distance. |

That last point is absolutely me. I joined Fab just before lockdown so felt like we were all int eh same boat but as soon as restrictions were lifted, I got serious FOMO at seeing loads of people meeting with new verifications. |

Can confirm, and some of the customers at my store wonder why we can't keep anyone the way customers and management treats employees these days |

I miss people having an appreciation for key workers and the vital jobs the do for society…
Now there’s a large section of society that think they’re greedy for wanting a pay rise that doesn’t actually equate to a massive pay cut |

Totally. I wasn't working in retail at that time but it was brutal how people were treated and the disrespect etc. I can't decide if this was 2 or 3 years ago or a decade ago... seems like it's been forever! |

Somewhere in Co. Down |
Nothing my life only got more stressful durning lockdown during lockdown and since. I still worked the whole way through and in fact during it all did ridiculous hours we weren't allowed to take annual leave and had to put up with an incredible amount of crap from people who acted like we were personally responsible for restrictions on visiting etc.So no I miss nothing about it all. |

"Quieter roads are definitely missed. Petrol under a pound a litre too. I miss people caring about others. I miss all the conspiracy theories..... and others saying it was all made up..."
Okay I do not miss the last two points... |

There were positives amongst the negatives.
Quiet streets.
No commute or an easier commute.
Settling in to my new abode.
Great weather.
Very little queuing round my way and people were polite.
My margarita nightcap when I finished my 10.30 homeworking shifts.
My bubble |

Tongue and cheek, but true. - The distance most (though not all) kept in a queue. What is it with people wanting to come so close you can feel their breath right up the back of your head. Even when you move away, they still don't get it and move right up you again as if you just had your honeymoon. Please give me a little bit of space. You are already in the queue, it will not be any faster if you breathe at the back of my head. That onion breath or getting your sniffles is not something I want. |

The amount of sex we could have and spend a lot of the day in bed together. It was our first year together and literally having nothing else to do other than have sex was amazing
The roads being quiet all the time.

Quiet roads while driving to work every day was bliss.
Not having to rush our kids here there and everywhere to the different clubs etc took a whole load of pressure off life. |

Definitely do not miss lockdown at all. I spent six months cooped up in a small flat with nowhere to go. My mental health was destroyed and I only survived because I was able to buy a house and escape.
I’m glad I was able to work from home too - I don’t think I would have coped being furloughed. |
