£1.74 for 4 pints of milk but think nothing of 2.50 for a pint of beer (if lucky)
Or the same for 250ml of red bull.
Farmers need support and paid proper value for the food they provide |

They get next to nothing, it's the markets that get the wonga. Also I don't really drink often so I don't think about the price of alcohol at all. |

"How to fuck did we get 24 posts in and nobody mentioned Freddo?
It was you all along."
Freedo deserves more respect than he has been shown. The dude is the face of inflation and price increase awareness. |

See I thought about them as writing it, I'm as shocked as yourself
Should have been the first response! "

"Bread is 75p in Aldi... still 20p more than it was about a year ago.
I should really stop going to local tesco express, it's a garage so they probably wake extra on. "
People just need to shop around, lets take diesel for an example.... today, at Morrisons, diesel was £1.72 a litre, at the Sainsburys less than 1000 yards away it was £1.61, made me wonder why Sainsbury forecourt had hardly anyone on it, but Morrisons had a small queue because there was 5p a litre off for spending £50 in store which still made it 6p a litre more at morrisons.... the mind boggles |

I haven’t kept a check on my shopping prices since my kids were really young.
I don't think I've known how much 4 pints of milk is for years.
I've stopped buying so much crap so I'm saving money that way, so probably don't notice the rise on essentials.

"Quaker Oats porridge in Asda. Not that long ago it was £1.70 a box or 2 boxes for £3. Now it's £275 for one box
Quaker Oats, really shaking up that price game... I shall see myself out... "
It's actually £2.75 not £275. If it was £275 would surely have to be Harrods, Selfridges or Harvey Nicholls selling it |

And if it was a choice between the three it would be "Harvey Nichols™". |

To clarify milk costs around, 40p a litre to produce from the cow and the farmer get paid between 46 and 49p when it leaves the farm, so when you are paying £1.75 for 2 litres the supermarket are making 100% profit on every litre sold. |

Mark up is always around 150% what supermarkets pay, it's been that way for decades. |
