little house on the praire

Jay and i have decided where going to get away more this year as we didnt do much last year. So far we have decided on a couple of mini breaks to bath and norwich and then ive decided i want to go to croatia or scotland (not sure if i can be bothered with all the traveling to croatia)

Im looking for suggestions for more mini breaks in the uk. We will be going by train

Berlin !

I am biased on that one tho.

My to do list over the next 2 years includes Karlovy Vary, Budapest, Ljubljana, Iceland, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Vancouver.

Also want to get back over to visit my mate in the States, but he moves about so much with work I never know where exactly to book a flight to.

He was in Palm Springs for Christmas and New Year - sounds much more exciting than Manchester doesn't it ?

Why not look at doing Europe by train? Well, not all of it obviously, but somewhere you like the sound of. It's a great way of seeing the continent and European trains are, in general, a lot better than ours - food on board certainly is!

If you like Scotland, how about somewhere else with mountains? Austria/Switzerland maybe?

Paris , Brussels , Lille & Bruges are all very easy to get to on the train. You could probably be in Lille quicker than you could be in Edinburgh.

There are some very good deals to be had on Eurostar at the moment as well.

What about the train to Cologne area and then a Rhine cruise ?

I can just see Diamonds in a little sailors cap and navy jacket with anchors on it
