Super Glue. Used to stick anything to anything. Now it’s shit, even the brands like Loctite. Doesn’t set fast, teaks easy - the repair used to be stronger the the original.. did they have to remove a chemical or something?
What else is now a pale imitation of its former glory ? |

"Use the gorilla super glue. Also comes with a handy brush.
I can't think of any examples to add though! "
And gorilla duct tape. According to the advert you can saw a canoe in half and tape it back together. |

Superglue (Cyanoacrylate) has not been changed over time, although there are a load of different types and strength. What has changed is the range of materials that we might try to stick together.
Personally, I have never really found superglue to be the best of adhesives, epoxy resins (Like Araldite) have always been my preferred glue. |

This, it’s usually the substrates that make “superglue” ineffective |

Similarly, I'm increasingly convinced that Blu Tack is less sticky than it used to be. Even the Bostik stuff, and they created it. |

I hate it when there isn't just a "Reject all" button. Chances are I'm going to leave the page and go somewhere else. |

A lot of soft drinks. Sugar tax made them remove a some of sugar and replace it with sweetener. Irn Bru in particular has suffered with the taste change. |

Motorbikes, at one time you could fix them by the side of the road with your trusty hammer, if it was a big job bigger hammer and a screwdriver.
These days you need laptop and a variety of expensive tools. |

Agree I can do an oil change and a few other easy jobs, changing spark plugs etc… but I’d dread to do much more than that. |

And the new rules that say something about the distance of the rear mudguard. The height and distance makes them so unattractive |

I think it used to be cyanoacrylate, now it's cyanoacrylate-alpha.
Probably too many window lickers glueing their fingers together |

Did you . I didn’t read the thread. It’s true though isn’t it!"

Yes, sugar puffs, whatever they're called these days. Were so good, bought a box a few weeks ago, flavourless cardboard. "
It's so sad isn't it.
Coco Pops used to be my fave now they taste like rat poo. But even more flavourless.

Dropping the iconic tube with lid was a bad Idea too. Did anyone else collect the full alphabet of Smarty tube caps?"
I learned to spell using an ice cream tub of smarties alphabet lids |

Super Glue, was invented to stick people back together. Initially used, I think, during the Vietnam War to stick battlefield wounds while waiting for evacuation to hospitals. I've had it used on me to stick a flap of skin that had been sliced with a knife and wouldn't stop bleeding or start to knit back together. |

Not quite right. It was *used* for that, but that's not why it was invented. It was discovered in 1942 during the development of clear plastic gunsights for the Second World War, patented in 1947, and made available as a commercial adhesive in 1958. |
