Chatting with a ‘couple’ seems friendly enough and then ‘you can’t view this profile’ …user has blocked you 
Is blocking your ‘go to’ if you just can’t be bothered to chat anymore?

It saves on awkward conversations when you realise the compatibility isn't there, I guess.
Getting blocked is fine. It's better than continuing to waste time and energy on someone who isn't gonna work out. |

We were chatting….and then I tried to look at their profile and it said ‘you can’t view this profile’ so I tried to message and it said they had blocked me. I can’t see how it would be temp  |

Having dealt with a lot of single men on here, I understand expecting a shitty response.
Probably why half the time I go with one word answers in the hope they'll decide I'm boring and fuck off on their own rather than making a big deal.
Not all men. But enough to make people having their guard up reasonable. |

I do hear of lots of people trying to politely turn down folk and getting endless begging messages trying to get them to change their minds. Followed by abuse when they don’t capitulate.
Maybe that couple has just taken blocking as a strategy to avoid that. Not suggesting you would have, OP, but it might explain the lack of explanation. |

You can never tell how a message that you think is harmless is going to be perceived. I’ve had that problem with messages I thought were humorous but were perceived as really unfunny. Take it on the chin and move on! |

I've never done this mid chat but have been on the receiving end a few times over the years.
In one case we had chatted for a couple of weeks and she was very full on about getting to know me and wanting to meet when she got back from holiday and when I replied to wish her a happy holiday I was blocked.
That was years ago and it annoyed me at the time because I was struggling to maintain conversations and her actions didn't make sense.
She was well verified and there had been zero sex chat beforehand.
If it was to happen now I wouldn't give it a second thought. |
